Surprise!

I went downstairs to try to find my mom though she was nowhere to be found. Called her and her phone went straight to voice-mail. Went to the kitchen finding a small note on the counter.

I won't be home all day since I'll be at the library. Do whatever you feel like, but no parties. I try my best to come around 8

So I called Katie from my computer waiting for her to answer but she declined. I tried one more time but she declined again. It's been three days since the fight happened when I and Conrad went out. 

I haven't spoken to him or seen him at all. I've called Susannah trying to see what's up with him. And she doesn't know anything. Closing my computer and just stood there being annoyed at myself. 

Grabbing on my shoes and went to the beach. Closing the backdoor following the trail, hearing the ocean crashing. 

Letting all of my emotions out, sitting down on the sand. I saw a stick and I began to draw on the sand. Drawing a heart but the ocean waves came and washed it out. Drawing another heart and right next to it I wrote a small quote.

I want to be with you, till my last page

Got off the sand going back inside knowing no one is going to see it. 

Conrad POV

I've been ignoring Cassie for the past three days. Since I saw my mom sleeping more often and I began to worry. She's been telling me that Cassie has been calling her and I just told her to tell her I'm fine. 

I went to the beach to surf before I got in the water I think I saw Cassie sitting in the sand drawing whatever she was drawing. She got up and left to go inside the house. 

Walking to see what she drew and saw a heart and right next to it was a small quote. I want to be with you, till my last page.

I have no idea why she wrote that. The ocean waves came and washed it away walking away from it and heading back to my house. "Dude, where were you?" Jeremiah asks. "Out," I say cold.

"Well, mom needs help with something," Jeremiah says walking back inside the house. Putting my surfboard back.

Cassie POV 

Laying in my bed writing in my diary that I had when I was younger. Mostly letting my emotion take over. Once, I was done writing down what needed to be put down. I decided to sleep since I had nothing to do.

"Cass?" I heard a familiar voice and I didn't care who it was, I just wanted to be alone. "Cassie!" The person shouts and when I looked to see it was Katie!

"Katie!" Pulling her into a hug, and bringing her to my bed.

Hearing her laugh made me feel better. We both stood up and I saw my mom peaking at my door. "Can one of you explain? Cuz I'm hella confused," Laying my hands on top of hers. 

"Three days Cass, and you won't even tell me what happened and Susannah texted me saying that you've been calling her non-stop." I put my hand to stop, cuz I know where this is going.

"So I brought Katie here so you guys can hang out and so I can see your smile." Closing my door.

"I need you to fill me in on what happened and how was the date!" Smiling through each word. I began to tell her and she lays her head on my lap. "Wow, all in one day?" 

"Yeah," I scoff. "But I really had a great time with him." Looked down at Katie seeing her smile get bigger. "You like him." She begins to sing. "I do not!" I shout. "What time is it?" Katie looks at her phone to see.

"6" Damn, have I been asleep for a long time? "Want me to show you around?" She gets off my bed quickly and I laugh.

"Okay, do you want to the beach first?"

"Duh," Telling her to follow me, opening the door to the backyard. Following the trail to the beach. "I don't know you have access to the beach." Sounding surprise. "I wanna piggyback-ride." Katie pouts.

I gave her a signal to get on my back. We walked to the beach together to see the sunset. "Gosh it's so pretty, you know we never see sunsets like this." Looks up and she's right back home we never sunset like this. 

"Okay tell me more about this Conrad guy," Moving her legs back and forth. "There's not really much about him," I tell her. She puts her hand on my head and starts to shake it. "Yes, there is." 

"You like him and you know it." When she finished that sentence, I tripped, and we both started laughing. 

"Cassie?" I stopped laughing immediately, Katie saw and I got up to see Conrad. Pulling her up not daring to look at him. Taking her away from him leaving him alone. "Talk to him." She says and I stopped.

"I can't and you know." Look back to see him still standing there. "Well, I know for a fact you won't ignore him." She takes me back to the beach so I can talk to him. I see him staring at me and I ignore it.

"Umm... Conrad this is Katie my best friend, Katie this is Conrad." Introducing them, Katie glares at him, and I nudge her. 

All of us stood there in silence, I didn't know what to say. "I'll be a couple of feet away from you.' Before I had time to grab her she ran. "I saw you earlier, you were laying in the sand." He says. I gave him an 'o'

He sat down and I did too. I started to play with the sand and he grabs my hand. "I just wanted to say sorry. " Letting out and I just nod since I got nothing to say. Well, I do and I hope he answers it.

"Why did you punch him?" Waiting for his answer. Nothing, that's when I got up and walked away. 

"Cassie!" He blurts and I stopped. Why am I stopping? I should walk away but I can't. "What," Moving my hair away from my face.

"Do you not remember?" I looked at him very confused. "God, just tell me, Conrad!" I can't take it any longer.

"The guy called you names like mean ones. While you were pulling us away from the mess." He explains. 

"Oh," Is all I gave him. "Why couldn't you tell me when we were sitting down outside my house?" I hear him sigh. "I don't know." I can't ignore him since he did that. He was only doing that to protect me. 

"It's fine," Smiling and so does he, shoving my hand with his shoulder. "So I heard, you like someone?" I could see something in his eyes but I didn't know what it was.

"No, I don't. She just says that." Explained and we continued to talk for a while until it got dark.

"I got to go, see you tomorrow?" Nodding his head before I walked away he grabbed my hand, pulled me close to him, and stared at me.

I'm hoping Katie doesn't see this. "Why did you kiss me on the cheek?" I began to laugh quietly. "Remember when I said I'll repay you. Well, that was the kiss, since I had a good time and thought that's how I'll repay you." Ran back to Katie seeing her in shock.

"Katie don't you even dare!" I shout and she ran back into the house. Looking back to see him laughing.
