Future Fish

Chapter 1

Makoto and Haru were sitting at a cafe in an aquarium, as Haru argued, "Why can't I get in the tank with them?"

"Haru, those are sharks."

"I've swam with a shark before." Haru said , with a serious expression on his face.

"That's not funny!" Makoto chuckled, taking a sip from his water. Haru smiled over at him, very satisfied with himself. "You know how much I love you, right?"

"Of course." He said, leaning over the table to kiss his boyfriend.

Suddenly they heard a glass fall to the floor and a familiar voice say, "What tHe FucK?"

"Oh my god, Rin!"

"But my drink." Haru whined over his spilled water.

"What the fuck is going on?" Rin exclaimed, obviously shocked. "I- I didn't know you worked here, oh my god Rin." Makoto said at the same time Haru said, "Yeah, we're dating." Rin stood there staring at the couple, Makoto with his head in his hands and Haru smiling brightly up at him. "You can sit if you want."

"I don't." Rin said, he turned on his heel and stomped away. "What's with him?" Haru asked, turning back to Makoto. He sighed and said, "I think I know what's going on." Haru shrugged and looked back at the tank. "Anyways, back to the sharks."

Rin slammed the door to the kitchen and yelled, "Sasuke! We need to talk." Gou looked up at him, "Oh, he's on a smoking break, out back." Rin stormed to the back, slamming that door also. Sasuke was sitting on the bottom step staring at the sky with a cigarette in his right hand. Rin sat next to him with a sad expression on his face. "Is it Haru?" Sasuke wrapping an arm around his friend. "How did you know?" Sasuke sighed, looking at him. "It's that face you made." Rin smiled softly and stood up, Sasuke sighing as his arm fell back to his lap. "I don't," Rin said, "think I can deal with him being with someone else. I thought I could watch it happen, but I can't."

He took Sasuke's cigarette, and took a long drag from it. Sasuke knocked it out of his hands, "You're too young to be smoking."

"We're the same age."

"But you have a future and I don't." He said, pulling another one out of the pack, and lighting it. "That's not true, you have that job with your uncle-"

"So your Haru problem," he sighed, taking the cigarette to his mouth again. "Look, tell him how you feel. Meet him at Iwatobi, and tell him. If you don't do it now.... you never will."

Gou opened the door and poked her head out, "Sasuke, you're smoke breaks over! And Rin, you never had a break, why are you out here?" Rin shrugged and both of them stood, following Gou inside.
