As the day went on, Astrid couldn't wait to go to Allison's house. She met up with her sister as the school day was coming to an end and she had exciting news. I made some friends! She couldn't have been happier. That is fantastic, D.
She informed Astrid that she was going out with these friends - Jackson and Lola - and that Astrid could take the car. She was so happy about her new friends she couldn't stop smiling. Astrid could not have been happier for her.
When Astrid left New Orleans High to pursue Saint Carter's Science and Technology Academy, she left behind her sister. As twins, Astrid and Davina never needed anyone else because they always had each other. But it was still very easy for Astrid to make friends. As for Davina, it was more difficult.
Going to her new school, Astrid made a whole new group of friends. They hung out most afternoons, laughing and having a wonderful time. But Davina often sat alone. Stayed home on weekends practising magic instead of going out. Astrid always felt bad and would invite her out. But Davina would say no and continue to stay at home. But now she had made wonderful friends and Astrid was happy for her. Especially because they are her own friends. She stepped out of her shell and met people.
Astrid took Davina's car and followed Allison to her house. Her house was gorgeous. Very big - two stories. Beautiful bushes and gardens under the front windows.
'Thank you for helping me.' Astrid said.
'It's really no problem.' Allison unlocked the door and they walked inside. Right as they walked through the door was a set of staircases. The living room to the right and the kitchen up ahead. 'My room is just up here.' Astrid followed Allison up the stairs, down the hall and into her bedroom.
Her walls were painted a gorgeous lilac, with lovely white and purple butterfly curtains over the window. Two small bedside tables - each with a lampshade on top - between her bed. And a desk opposite her bed.
Allison walked in, placed her bag on the foot of her bed and sat down. Astrid felt awkward. She was excited to be there but didn't quite know what to do. She stared around the room, trying to figure out what to do. Her gaze stopped at Allison. She reached into her bag pulling out her French textbook and notepad. Then she looked up at Astrid. She patted the bed for Astrid to sit. She smiled awkwardly and moved over to sit.
'Let's get started, shall we?' Said Allison.
Astrid removed her backpack from her back and sat it in front of her to grab out her French textbook and notebook.
'Okay, where to start?'
Astrid had many sticky notes in her French textbook of all the phrases, sentences and important facts that she needed to learn before her French test.
'Wow. You're very organised.'
'I try to be.'
Astrid looked at her textbook and when she looked up, she caught Allison's eye. She stared into her beautiful brown eyes and it felt like the world around them stopped. She had completely forgotten what she was there for. That was until Allison reminded her.
'We should probably get on with your studies.' She said.
'Right.' Once Astrid snapped out of her daze, she realised how much she leaned forward. She kind of wanted to kiss her. She looked back at Allison and blushed.
