I stood in front of the door of the old brick building in Urlaine street in which we had trained. My thoughts jumped between two possibilities. Either I would say sorry to Jeff or I wouldn't, just come to the next training and not turn a hair. While my head still pondered the possibilities and the resulting consequences, my fingers started their own life and rang the bell. The door opened right away.
"Hello, Luna. What are you doing here? Do we have a meeting for training today?" Jeff looked at me confused.
"No, we weren't. But I..." I looked at him. I was sure he knew what I wanted to say! Why wouldn't he just let me in? But no, Jeff leaned at the door with a raised eyebrow and looked at me, still confused.
"I wanted to say sorry. For last time. When I threw you against the wall."
He laughed. What was that now? I tried to say sorry and he just laughed!
"You don't have to say sorry. I wouldn't know why." Now I was the one confused, "Because I threw you against the wall?" I was angry! As if he didn't know anything about it!
"And that's why you want to say sorry? Luna, I've survived worse, plus, I'm not angry at you, I'm proud. After all, it was the first time you did it." I looked at him with my mouth wide open. You could see it like that as well.
"Close your mouth and come in. It's getting cold." I hadn't realized it, but since I had arrived the sun had set and it got colder slowly. I got inside and into the hallway. I put my jacket on the coat rack and followed Jeff into the training room. He had put the equipment back at their spots but the lines were still on the floor.
"Since you're here I can also teach you something. You will like it." Why was he so sure about it? But I didn't care at the moment. It was important for me to study, to impress the Lucenti during our first meeting. Also, I didn't want to think about what would happen if I didn't get it. Adding to the fact that I would get bright red with shame. "Okay. Show me. I'm curious."
Jeff got in the middle of the lines. He stretched his hand in front of him, with the palm on the upper side. Then he stared at it. Slowly, water drops gathered in it, then they formed a water ball, the size of a walnut. Afterward, the ball was as big as an apple. A big apple. So Jeff was a water chanter. Good to know. Now Jeff walked toward a stunt doll that was only a few steps away from him. What was he about to do? I didn't make sense of it. He now stood directly in front of the doll and threw the water ball at it. What was that all about? Then he took a few steps to the side so I could see the hole in the middle of its stomach.
