Derek opened the door to the loft and Astrid walked in with Derek's help. 'Careful, now.'
'Derek, I'm fine. I have a broken arm. I can still walk.'
'I just want you to be okay.'
'And I am.' Astrid had a sling for her arm. Her rib was still bruised but well enough for her to no longer be in the hospital.
'Maybe you should've stayed in the hospital.' Derek said. Astrid turned around. 'Just for a few more days.'
'Derek, I am fine. Okay? I promise you.'
'I know, it's just...'
'My nightmare.' Derek looked at the ground. 'That's all it was - a nightmare. I assure you, cousin, everything is fine. Besides, I am much safer here with you and Davina watching my every move.' She said with a bitter eye roll.
'It's for your own safety, sister.' Davina said as she walked down the spiral staircase. 'We love you and we care about you.'
'Thank you. Both of you. Truly. But I am fine.' She looked at Derek first who still stood by the door. Then Davina who stood at the end of the staircase. She gave them a small smile, announced her leave to her bedroom then left, taking slow steps to avoid extreme pain from the bruised rib.
Upon arriving at her room, she dropped her hospital bag on her bed. She moved over to her window and looked out. Staring out in a daze, she thought nothing more but her dream she had the other day in the hospital. There was a sense of... realness to it. Astrid thought that maybe the dream was so intense that it only felt real. But that was before she had a conversation with Nurse Mccall.
It was just a nightmare. I'm fine, honestly. It didn't seem like a dream. Astrid, you woke up coughing and hyperventilating. The dream was more than just a dream. I just need to ensure you're okay before I allow you to leave.
All right. Now, what happened... here? She guestered around her neck. What do you mean? The bruises.
Astrid's neck was covered in bruises. As if someone had choked her. Like in her dream but only it left real marks. She believed her dream may have been more than just a dream. She couldn't make quite sense of it yet. But if her dream wasn't actually a dream, then it was possible there could actually be another siphon witch in Beacon Hills.
Astrid was grateful for Melissa. She helped her cover her bruises with makeup to keep it a secret from Derek until she found out more. She was reluctant at first. But then she agreed and helped cover her up. However, in case in happened again, she did tell Derek she had a nightmare. A very intense nightmare. She wasn't mad at Melissa for telling him but wish she didn't.
Astrid's phone had rung from her bed. She walked over. She received a text message from Lydia. A video message.
'Hey, girl! I am here with Allison and the rest. We are so incredibly sorry about your accident. And we have all missed you so. Especially Allison.' She whispered secretly the last part and giggled. 'So, we thought that we would throw you a party! Whoo! Anyway, I really hope you can make it. If not, I will understand but it will be terribly sad. I really do wish I can get to know you more. Well, please let me know your decision. And maybe I'll see you soon.'
Astrid felt herself smile. The thought of people she barely knew took her in when she had no one. And were now throwing a party in her honour. She couldn't feel more grateful.
Astrid texted Lydia back saying that she would be happy to attend. Lydia wasted no time to respond.
Excellent! She responded. She texted back a time and her address. See you soon.
