Astrid met up with Malia at the lacrosse field at school to watch Scott and Stiles train for a lacrosse match. They sat by the benches. Malia with her school textbooks and Astrid with her witchy textbooks. Astrid was going over her spell books, trying to find anything that can to help them with Alex and the heretics without resorting to murder.

While flicking through her books, the sound of huffing and puffing approached her. It was Stiles. He tried to tell her something but his breathing was heavy, as if in a panic.

'Woah, buddy.' She patted his shoulder. 'Slow down. Breath.' Stiles took a deep breath in and a deep breath out. 'Good. Now, what were you saying?'

He took another deep breath in and out, then informed Astrid and Malia that Matteo was here. And he had joined their lacrosse team. Astrid's attention was drawn out when she saw Matteo running onto the field wearing the lacrosse training outfit. He winked and saluted her while continuing to run onto the field.

'Oh, crap.' Stiles muttered.

Coach blew his whistle, making Stiles jump and also drop his lacrosse gear. He shouted for everyone to run out onto the field and do laps. And with that, Stiles ran off with a sigh, following after Scott.

For a little while, Astrid watched Matteo run the laps, being far ahead of everyone else. Staring. Staring. She looked away. Back down at her book. But she wasn't really reading it, however. Just staring. Looking busy. Her mind was in a daze. Racing with too many thoughts. Matteo had gotten into her head. Kinsley had gotten into her head. Peter too. She couldn't think straight. There was too much...

'What's wrong with you?'

Astrid continued to stare down for a few seconds. Then looked up to face Malia. She shook her head. 'I- I'm fine.'

She gave her a I don't believe you look. Astrid looked away back at her book. 'You reek of anxiety. And it's distracting. What's going on?'

'God, I hate werewolf senses.' She mumbled to herself. 'It's this thing with Matteo and Alex and... and Peter. I...' She couldn't find the words. 'There is so much going on and I don't know what to do about it.' She looked at Malia.

'These heretics, they will hurt anyone in their way until they get what they want and we don't even know what that is. It could be me but they won't stop there. They'll hurt you, Derek, Allison. They won't stop until-'

'Until they're dead.'

'But that isn't an option. I know they're vampires but there is still good in them. We can't kill them. But...' She sighed. Then groaned and threw her head back. She slammed her book on her head.

'Looks like someone's losing it.'

Astrid slowly removed the book. She stared out. She looked at Malia. 'Did you say something?' Malia lifted her head up from her book and shook her head. Astrid turned back out.

'I'm inside your head.' Astrid looked around. 'You're slowly falling apart.' An echoing laugh. A quick search of the stands. She spotted Kinsley sitting on the far end of the bleachers. She was smiling viciously. 'You're losing your mind, little girl.' Another laugh. 'Ah, god. You are pathetic. You're scared. You can't do anything. I don't even know why Alex wants to turn you. You're weak. You'd make a useless vampire.'

Astrid's muscles tensed up. Her fists clenched around the lacrosse stick she was holding. As Kinsley babbled on and on about how useless and pathetic Astrid was, she snapped. Her body was fuelled with an anger she had never felt before. It flooded out. She snapped the lacrosse stick in half. Malia and the lacrosse boys looked at her. It took Astrid a minute to realise what had happened. She looked down at the broken lacrosse stick in her hands then dropped it on the grass. She flicked her head to look at Kinsley. She skidded with a smirk. Turning back to the front, she caught Matteo's eyes. He smiled, too, viciously. Then he went back to training.
