Year 3 - I Missed You

I was in the Leaky Cauldron before school my dad had dropped me off here a week earlier than he planned but he had an urgent Ministry call. As I understood it the Weasleys were meant to arrive soon I would buy all my school supplies for the new year with them and I was excited. I was in my room getting dressed before heading down for breakfast the cook knew my dad and out of respect would cook me anything I wanted free of charge. When I got down there I heard my name being called and I turned to see the Weasleys there with none other than Hermione Granger we all smiled before saying hello.

"So how was your summer," I said as I sat next to Hermione at the table.

"Great I had a good time my family were lucky enough to be able to go overseas," Hermione said.

"Wow really where did you go," I asked.

"You don't remember I told in the letters I sent," Hermione said.

"Oh yeah about that, you heard about the break out from Azkaban right," I said Ron and Hermione nodded.

"Are you talking about Sirius Black," Hermione asked and I nodded.

"Well as you know my father is an Aurora and he was tasked with looking for Black so as a precaution he had me in a safe house all summer so I have not been able to receive nor send any letters," I said.

"Oh well I went to Italy and that is where I picked up this little guy," Hermione said as she shows me a cat.

"Hey there," I said stroking the cat as it purrs at my touch.

"He seems to like you his name is Crookshanks by the way," Hermione said.

"More like evil goes after Scabbers every chance it gets," Ron said.

"Ron it's a cat what the hell were you expecting," I said as Hermione smiles at me.

We all stay for a few days as Ron tells us about his trip to Egypt as I tell them about my boring summer hiding from an escaped murderer. I spent most of my time catching up with Hermione and joking around with the twins they had practically become my brothers after last year. It was about the 4th day when I was kicking the collective asses of Fred and George at chess as unlike their brother they are really bad.

"And that's checkmate," I say moving my rook into position.

"Damn it," Fred said after a quick scan of the bord.

"I'M WARNING YOU HERMIONE YOU KEEP THAT BLOODY BEAST AWAY FROM SCABBERS OR I'LL TURN IT INTO A TEACUP," Ron yells as he holds his away from Hermione's cat.

"He's a cat Ron it's in his nature," Hermione said as I got up to stand by Hermione.

"A cat is that what they told you looks more like a pig with hair if you ask me," Ron said.

"Harry," I say as I see him glad I found something to defuse the time bomb.

Later we are all sitting back down me and Hermione playing with Crookshanks as Ron tells Harry about Egypt.

"Egypt what's it like," Harry asked.

"Great tones of old stuff even Scabbers enjoyed himself," Ron said.

"You know the Egyptians used to worship cats," Hermione said.

"Yeah along with the dung beetle," Ron said.

"Morning Y/N," Ginny said.

"Morning Ginny," I said as she sat down in front of me and Hermione.

"So you two dating yet," Ginny said and we froze.

"What," I said unable to hide my blush.

"Come on I have seen the way you look at each other I think you would make a great couple," Ginny said making me and Hermione look at one another.

"Alright everyone time to go let's move," Arthur said before either of us could say anything.

I was walking around Diagon Ally with the others Hermione by my side it was after a good 30 minutes or so when she looked at me. 

"I missed you," Hermione said.

"I missed you too," I said with a smile as I gave her a hug that she returned.
