Allison Argent
Allison was officially worried. She heard from Davina. She knew who kidnapped Astrid. Alex. And his gang of heretics. A part of her kind of guessed it, however. She knows that Alex wanted to turn her so what if he did? Or worse. He killed her. Allison felt like she was going to lose her mind.
She eventually left school early; she couldn't handle being there. Instead she went home and worked on improving her weapons down in the basement. She started with her long bow with the telescope on the top, adjusting it. Her hands were shaking. She was moving fast. The entire time fussing with the same thing over and over again all she could think of was Astrid. She felt a wave of emotions. Happiness. Sadness. Anger. Joy. She wiped her forehead with the back of her hand when she heard footsteps coming down the stairs.
'I had a feeling you might be down here.' Allison avoided looking at her father.
'I had to do something. I hate waiting.'
Chris walked around, standing on the other side of her. 'Have you heard from Scott?'
'Yeah. He's with Astrid's sister. They're trying to figure out where she could be.' Astrid grabbed a screwdriver from beside her bow. She was trying to adjust the lenses. She poked in it and wiggled it around. But it wasn't actually doing anything. She didn't exactly know what she was doing. Trying to find... anything, literally anything, to do to avoid thinking. Chris grabbed her hand. Stopping her. Allison lifted her head, staring straight ahead. She closed her eyes and let out a huff of air.
'Why don't you leave it for now, hm?' He removed his hand from hers. She opened her eyes and put the screwdriver back down. Chris turned behind him, 'I have something else you can do.' Allison turned her head to see her father crouched on the ground in front of his safe. 'It's something we should've done a long time ago.' He punched in the combination. And it opened.
He grabbed out a little black box. He undone the clicks and opened it up. They were steels of silver with the Argent family crest sealed on them. She smiled at him. The two of them got set up. Chris grabbed a pot, put one of the slabs of silver inside and heated it up. Once it melted he used a metal spoon to remove the molten silver from the pot to a steel bowl.
'Remember,' he started. 'You can start over.' He sat down. 'I was a bit of a perfectionist about it myself.' He reached into his pocket and grabbed out a silver bullet. 'I always wanted the seal to look just right.'
Allison zoomed in, examining her father's make of a silver bullet. 'How many did you make?'
'Six. But I used them all. Only at close range, though. Despite some other legends, silver's not really as accurate as lead.'
Allison nodded. Then she stopped to think. 'Dad, I think I want to use my own mould.'
Chris tilted his head. 'You have your own bullet mould?'
She shook her head. 'No not bullet, arrow head. The bow is my weapon so I think I should make a silver arrowhead instead.' She looked at him. 'I- is that okay?'
Chris smiled at her. 'Of course, sweetie.' He leaned in and kissed her forehead. 'I'll leave you to it.' Chris went to leave but Allison stopped him, calling him back. He walked back over to her.
'If something happens...'
'Hey, hey.' He put his hand on her shoulder. 'You don't need to worry about me. I am going to be around for a long time. Okay?'
She smiled. 'I know. But... just take it as a reminder, then. Because you may not want to hear it but I need to know I said it.' She paused, gulped. Looked down then looked back up to meet his eyes. 'I love you. I'm proud of you. I... I'm proud of us.' He smiled. He leaned down and kissed her forehead once again and she smiled. Then he left.
Allison stared at her bow. She didn't move for a long time. Her mind drifted to other places. Places like Astrid. What if something happens to Astrid and she never got to tell her how much she loved her? How much she made her happy. How much she loved meeting her and having her a part of her life.
She closed her eyes and shook her head. Don't think like that, Allison. You'll see her again. She reassured herself. She decided to move on and make her silver arrowhead. She'll see Astrid again. She knows it.
She melted down one of the silver slabs in the pot her dad had set up. While it was heating, she went through her things, looking for her arrowhead mould. Once it melted completely, she grabbed the metal spoon and filled it with the molten silver and tipped it into the bowl. Then, ever so gently, she tipped some into her arrowhead mould, gently and slowly. Trying so hard to make it look as perfect as she could get it for her first try.
A few minutes later, she moulded the Argent crest onto it and waited for it to set. Then, she took it out of the mould and lined it up against the silver bullet her father made that he showed her before.
'What am I missing?' She mumbled to herself. But before she could check them out any further, her phone rang. It was Scott.
'We know where Astrid is.' She was overjoyed. She hung up the phone, grabbed her freshly moulded silver arrowhead, her favourite bow and arrow and drove to the designated location.
