Davina Claire
Davina couldn't believe her eyes. Her sister was dead. Giving her own life to save Allison's. Noble, yet it broke Davina. She felt it. She could feel the death of her twin sister. Like a part of her died, too. She tried so hard to save her sister. And now she was gone...
Davina watched as Allison opened her eyes and took her first gasp of life. Everyone was stunned at first. Trying to calculate how Allison was alive once more. Lydia was the first to run over to her and give her a hug.
Then soon enough, everyone huddled over. Davina escaped in the hubbub with Astrid's lifeless body. Nobody noticed dead Astrid being whisked away. She headed to her car. The worst part about being twins was that she could feel when her sister was losing her life force. When she was about to die. And when she did, she felt that, too. Not only did she lose her sister, but she lost a part of herself, too.
She opened the back seat car door and put Astrid's body inside. Then she heard her name called out behind her. She turned around and there stood Malia. Malia walked over to the opened car door and saw Astrid's body. She could tell that something had happened. She asked Davina what happened. Thought maybe she might have passed out for a few minutes but would then wake up, good as new. But no. Davina told her the truth. That Astrid did a resurrection spell to bring Allison back to life. Which resulted in Astrid losing her life for it. Malia was hurt. Crying and hugging Davina. She had also lost her sister. A sister she was just beginning to know.
Davina and Malia left the destination with Astrid's body in the back and drove to the loft. They walked in together, Davina carrying Astrid's lifeless body, tears filled both of their eyes. Sitting on the couch, unaware of everything that had happened was their cousin, their father, and Josh. Derek was the first to stand. He didn't even say anything. His eyes said it all.
He looked at Davina who was carrying Astrid in her arms. Josh and Peter then got up. All three walked over to Davina and Malia with tears in their eyes.
'Is she?...' Davina nodded. Derek was speechless. Derek loved Astrid like a daughter. He was there for them his whole life. And now one of them was gone. Just like that. 'What happened?' He asked in a whisper. 'Why is Astrid dead? What happened!' He said much louder.
Davina couldn't find the right words to explained that Astrid was dead. Derek stumbled backwards. Davina, then, walked past all of them toward the stairs. She went up to Astrid's room, placed her body gently on her bed. She sat beside the body and brushed the hair from her eyes. Davina sobbed, letting the tears just fall out. She wasn't gonna try to hide it. Her sister... was dead. She was gone.
Davina wiped her tears. Then she looked beside her, at Astrid's bedside table. There was an envelope. She picked it up. On the envelope read family. She opened the envelope. It was a letter. She quickly skimmed over it to herself. Once she finished, she ran down the stairs. Malia, Peter and Josh were sitting on the couch. Derek was pacing around the room. But everyone was crying.
'Guys.' Her voice croaked. 'I found a letter addressed to us. From Astrid.' Everyone tuned in. The letter read:
Dear my loving family,
If you're reading this, that means something horrible happened... and I died. I don't want you guys to be sad. I know this wasn't quite how anyone expected things to turn out but... you know, they say things happen for a reason. Guess my death was for a reason. I know how much this must suck. For all of you. But don't be sad. Please.
Peter, I know you haven't been a part of my life very long but it was nice to have a father. Even if it was only for a few weeks. Please, promise me you'll still be there for my sisters.
Malia, boy was I happy to meet you. I couldn't believe I had a secret older sister. Meeting you was one of the best things that happened to me when I moved here. I wouldn't trade that for anything. I do wish we had more time together. But I guess all good things must come to an end. It was fun while it lasted.
Derek. You have been like a father to me my whole life. You have always taken care of me. Wished me nothing but happiness and love. And you have given me so much of that over my life. Even though sometimes you can be a little irrational, I still love you from the bottom of my heart.
And finally, Davina. My sweet, dear twin sister. I know how much this must hurt you most of all. The emptiness you feel. The hole that I've left you with. I'm so very sorry. But I want you to know that I will always be with you. Even if you can no longer feel me. Or see me. I'll be watching over you. You'll always be my little sister. Thank you for everything that you have done for me my entire life. You are my best friend. My whole world. I will love you for eternity. I wish you all nothing but the best life you can live. And whenever you feel down, think of me. And keep moving forward. I love you all with my whole heart.
Sincerely, Astrid.
The letter broke everyone once more. After finishing reading it, Davina dropped to the floor. An aching pit of sorrow filled her. She ended up sobbing on the floor. Josh walked over to her. She cried into his shoulder. My sister... is dead...
