Allison Argent

Allison was lying on her bed on top of the covers. She'd been lying there for hours. Ever since she got home from school. Her dad had stopped by a few times to check up on her. It sucked. She couldn't talk to anyone about it.

Her phone vibrated. She reached to her bedside table and grabbed her phone. But it wasn't her phone. It was Astrid's phone. It was a text from Stiles.

Stiles: Hey, Astrid. I was wondering when you were coming back into town. I miss you. Okay, let me know.

Allison rolled onto her back while reading the text. Answering Astrid's text made her death feel so much more real.

'You should tell him that I don't know.' Allison gasped as she looked beside her. 'But not to worry.' Astrid's ghost was lying on the bed beside Allison. She smiled and began replying to his text.

Astrid: Hey, Stiles. I don't know when I'll be back in town. But don't worry. In the meantime, have fun. Times two, for me. Anyway, I miss you too.

She sent the text, turned the phone off and placed it back on the bedside table. She rolled onto her side to face Astrid. She smiled at her. And Astrid smiled back. Allison looked down at her lips and wished she could kiss her.

'I really hate this.' Allison whispers, followed by a chuckle.

'I know.' Astrid whispered back and nodded. 'But at least you get to see me.'

'But I can't touch you.' She reached out and touched her cheek.

Astrid smiled softly. 'Everything will be okay. I promise.' She whispered.

Allison thought to herself for a moment. If it was possible for Astrid to bring Allison back to life, was it possible for someone to bring Astrid back to life, too? Another witch. Like Davina.

'Hey. You brought me back to life, right?' She nodded slowly, unsure where she was going. 'Why can't we do the same with you?' Astrid's eyes widened. 'We could have Davina bring you back to life.'

Astrid sat up. 'No, no, no.'

Allison sat up, too. 'What? Why?'

'It- it's impossible, anyway.' She stuttered.

'Well, you brought me back.' She paused. 'I'm sure if you, me and Davina sat down together, we could-'

She got off the bed. 'No! It's not happening.'

Allison was stunned. 'Astrid, we could bring you back. Do... Do you not want to be alive? With me? With your sister?'

'Of course I do.'

'Then why won't you consider it?'

'Because magic has consequences!' She shouted. Astrid rubbed her forehead and walked around the room. Then she went back over to the bed and sat in front of Allison, grabbing her hands. Allison looked down. She couldn't feel them...

'You have no idea how much this hurts me. How much I want to be with you right now. Actually hold you and- and kiss you. But... but magic has its consequences. Do you know why I'm not alive right now? Because magic will always find a balance. You died. It was my spell that brought you back so it was my life it traded so you could have yours. I'm sorry but that's just the way it is.'

Allison stared at Astrid with tears in her eyes. 'It just isn't fair.' Her voice broke.

'I know.' Astrid cupped Allison's face. 'I know.'
