If the bead was the reason that the mortal was there, then her life force in the heavens would be tied to that bead remaining as part of her being. That being said, Beomgyu removed the bead. She should be dead. So why was she writhing on the floor, panting as she tried to pick herself up.

As much as Beomgyu fantasized about bringing about a zombie apocalypse via an extremely contagious plague, now that he actually saw someone alive when they should be dead, he started to like the idea less. It was unnatural.

His nerves began to catch in his throat as she collapsed on the floor again, trying with all her might to stand up again. Perhaps he should've asked Soobin. Beomgyu was always too rash to think out these things. He never slowed down to think about the consequences which is why the gods had him on a short leash.

She stood up and faced Beomgyu. She had a hand over her perfectly healed wrist in an attempt to soothe the pain. She was panting, as if standing up was the equivalent to a marathon.

"That... was not okay," she huffed.

Beomgyu could hear steps approaching from outside his door and with whatever haste and strength he could gather, he shoved the mortal over the back of his sofa and he stumbled to sit on the back of it, acting as casually as he could.

"Beomgyu, I know that you like to watch the people, but if I can keep the noise down, so can you," Yeonjun sighed as he stood in the doorway, massaging the bridge of his nose.

"You're right. My bad," Beomgyu chuckled nervously.

Yeonjun was right. If War could keep the volume down, so could Pestilence.

"What're you hiding?" Yeonjun asked, narrowing his eyes at Beomgyu who seemed suspicious in his attempt to seem unsuspicious.

"Why would I be hiding anything?" Beomgyu asked, attempting to look even more nonchalant.

"Because you visited the people today? Who's to say that you didn't bring home a souvenir? Remember last time? The house goat debacle?"

"That was one time! And I've learned my lesson! No more house goats!"

"No house goats or any other animals. My goodness, I can already feel the gods calling me and Soobinnie for a meeting," Yeonjun groaned.

Yeonjun and Soobin worked almost as a unit. Generally their concepts were similar. Where one appeared, usually the other did too. That was why people only believed in four horsemen. It was a shame that the word War seemed to be more encompassing of their joint efforts.

  "Hey, I have a question..."

  "Beomgyu..."

"In a completely hypothetical situation in which a mortal was brought to our world via a relic fused into their being, if that relic was removed, technically they would fully cross over, right?" Beomgyu asked quickly, nearly stumbling over his words.

"Beomgyu, what did you do?" Yeonjun asked, slowly moving closer to Beomgyu.

"It's a hypothetical! Just answer the question!"

"I suppose they would fully cross over," he answered, giving Beomgyu a suspicious side eye.

"Now, let's say they didn't. Why do you think that would be?"

"Either the relic isn't what brought them here, or they're meant to be here. That's just my guess though. There are too many hypotheticals to be certain. Why are you asking these questions?" Yeonjun's answers were always to the best of his knowledge. Even when he was suspicious he helped others before indulging his own suspicion.
