Jungkook was already in BTS by the time he had entered highschool. Thankfully he was managing the two very well despite his busy schedule with the band. His hyungs knew how important it was for him to study so they would always encourage him to get his homework done or study for tests whenever they had downtime. He turned out to be an honors student every semester and his hyungs couldn't have been more proud of him. They told him they didn't expect him to get straight A's, they figured that was impossible, but he always wanted to prove himself to them and got them anyway. They always would tell him "That's our golden maknae!" and the young singer felt like he always had to live up to that title no matter what.

He'd been studying a lot for an exam he had on Monday morning. On Sunday they had the day off so he studied in his room all day. His hyungs would have to come in and remind him to get something to eat or tell him it was okay to take a break and come out and hang out but Jungkook was super nervous about this exam so he didn't want to waste any time getting ready for it.

Monday morning he went in feeling confident. What he didn't expect once he saw the exam was for it to be on subjects he hadn't even known to study. He thought he'd studied all the material but this proved false when he found himself going through a handful of questions he didn't know the answers to. Two hours later when he finished he knew he wasn't going to get an A, but he figured at most maybe a B- or C. He still thought he did somewhat of a decent job. He went home and told his hyungs how hard the exam was and they started joking about how he "better not have failed." He knew they were being lighthearted about it but it still made him feel a bit disappointed.

The next morning while the teacher was handing the graded exams back, his classmate Sion was sitting next to him. Sion was the maknae of another band. Jungkook didn't know too much about the band but him and Sion seemed to get along well throughout the year. When Sion got his exam back, he gasped and immediately looked like he was on the verge of tears.

"Is it that bad?" Jungkook asked curiously. Sion showed him his test and Jungkook was surprised to see his friend had gotten a 42 on it. A total F. Jungkook got nervous when he realized Sion always pulled even higher grades than himself so he figured he was doomed.

"My hyungs are going to kill me!" Sion cried.

"They'll be mad?" Jungkook asked curiously.

"They'll be pissed! They're going to ground me forever and hate me or throw me out a window or something!" Sion cried. The teacher then handed Jungkook his exam back and his heart dropped when he saw that he got a 36 on it.

Sion peeked over, "Oh..man..that sucks for you too, huh?"

"I don't get it! I studied so hard!" Jungkook let out an angry groan as he folded up the exam. The teacher then explained that anyone who failed the exam had to come back with it signed by a guardian tomorrow. Sion and Jungkook both let out an annoyed sigh.

"Good luck, I'm sure your hyungs will be pissed too," Sion mentioned.

Jungkook hadn't even considered how his hyungs would react to an F. He'd never gotten one before.

"Maybe.." Jungkook pouted. He hated the idea of it.

"Yeah, I mean who knows maybe they'll even throw you out a window or something too! You'll probably be grounded for a long time, considering they expected more out of you, I'm guessing. That's what my own hyungs always say. Or maybe they'll just scream at you and smack you or something. Sometimes my hyungs make me skip meals if I've disappointed them," Sion said. Sion saw the downcast gaze on Jungkook's face and patted his back, "But hey, I'm sure they won't hate you forever. Maybe just for now!"
