The Stars in Your Eyes

"WHAT!!" I screamed at my mother. She MUST have been crazy! Sorry, I probably should add some context. My name is Lilith Greyson and I'm 15, my CRAZY mother just said that we're moving to a little town in the middle of nowhere!! What is she thinking!? Okay, I'll let you continue reading now.

"Mom, you must be crazy! We're perfectly fine here!" I said.

"Sweetie, I think it'll be good for us to have a change of scenery. And I know how much you love the stars! Imagine how much clearer they would be without all the light from the city!"  She replied.

I hate to admit it, but she had a point. I love the stars, and it's difficult to see them with all the light pollution from the city. But I couldn't just leave my whole life behind! I had friends, a boyfriend, and a good reputation at school, I couldn't just get all of that again someplace else.

"Could you at least tell me the name of the town?" I asked, hoping it wasn't that far.

"We're going to move to Aurora, it's not too far from Charleville, only two hours away, so you can still visit your friends." Mom noted.

I'm still a little on edge about this but at least I can call my friends if I ever need to talk to someone. We're leaving in a week, so I'll have to tell my friends soon. I doubt that I'll be able to have a long-distance relationship, so I'll have to break up with Ken, he's kind of a jerk anyways.

"Wait, where are you moving again?" said my friend Diane. 

"It's called Aurora." I responded.

"And when are you leaving?" Diane asked hesitantly.

"Two days from now." I said quietly.

"Ugh! I'm gonna miss you so much!! Have you told Ken?"

" Yeah, I broke up with him earlier today."

"Good, he was a jerk and I saw him snogging another girl yesterday!"

"Eh, I don't really care anymore, I'm sure I'll find someone else."

To be honest, I'm worried about not finding someone else. What if everyone there hates me? I genuinely have no idea what's going to happen there. People are different everywhere and I've never met anyone from outside of Charleville.
