As soon as the teacher finished writing on the chalkboard, Oh Sehun and Kim Jongin were both washed over with grief. While the other students quickly roamed the classroom to snag his or her best friend before someone else could take them away, Sehun and Jongin stayed glued to their seats. Oh Sehun glanced beside him at the other new student, who seemed as worried, lonely, and anxious as himself. Quickly but gently, Sehun tapped the classmate's shoulder, "Do you want to be partners?"

Kim Jongin flashed a nervous smile, "Sure, if you don't mind. I'm Kim Jongin but my friends call me Kai."

"Oh Sehun," the younger of the boys replied, slightly less anxious now that he had secured himself a partner. Jongin was highly grateful for Sehun being the one to take the initiative and approaching him. In all honesty, he was hoping Sehun didn't somehow make any new friends and was available for him. He knew it was selfish thinking, but loneliness was a cruel feeling.

"I want you and your partner to fill in the assignment that I am currently passing out," Teacher Kang said as she handed out stacks of papers to the front isles. "You need a team name. This project is the only project in this class. It will determine your grade, for all the work done in this class will go toward the project. In fact, you don't even have to complete the other assignments I hand out later on; they are to help you and your partner to create the best projection of the world in your eyes." The teacher paused briefly, glancing at the class, "Be careful who you pick as your partner."

Sehun glanced at his sheet of paper and wrote his name down, then his partner's. Likewise, Kai did the same. A smirked crossed his features and he tapped on the surface of Sehun's desk. "Hey, we can call ourselves Sekai. It's a combination of our names and it means 'world' in Japanese," Kai suggested, hoping Sehun wouldn't turn down his group name.

To Kai's pleasure, Sehun broke into a grin, "That's really clever, I like it." Both boys wrote in their new team name. He chuckled, "The hardest part of the project is done. That was easy."

Teacher Kang returned to the center of the classroom, "Your group project is to present what the world means to you. I would like it to be visual and thoughtful. You can use any type of presentation you decide - posters, power points, videos, whatever you can think of. Other than that, you may include anything you want - your likes, dislikes, hobbies, families, whatever suits you. Any questions?" She scanned the classroom with her hawk eyes. No one raised his or her hand. "Good, then we'll spend the rest of the class period filling in your sheet." Everyone waited until she sat down in her seat and began flipping through her thick binder.

The students turned to their partners and began chattering away. Kai scooted his desk against Sehun's and together they filled out their first assignment sheet, all the while getting to know one another. When they realized they both shared a passion for dance, Sehun suggested, "We can include something relating to dance in the project somehow." Kai agreed and jotted down their ideas on a separate piece of paper.

"We better pass this project," Kai commented with a heavy sigh. "Fail the project, fail the class," he pointed to the bold print at the bottom of the paper. "Makes sense, since it's the only thing she's looking at. If we do what we're supposed to, we really have nothing to worry about."

"Hey look!" Sehun pointed to the small print below that. "The best project will receive a cash reward." Sehun glanced up at Kai's face, "We're going to need to meet up outside of class if we want to succeed."

"What about lunch?" Kai asked. "We can have lunch together while we discuss."

During their first lunch together, Sehun asked, "So, what should we start with? What does the world mean to you?" Kai thought for a moment before shrugging. "What's something that you value?"
