Chapter 17

You look at the door, tears stain your face. Tord looks at you with flowers and a soft smile until he sees the stains. He closes the door and walks over. He sets the flowers next to you then puts both of his hands on your cheeks, cradling your face.

"Darling, why are you crying?"

You put one of your hands on his.

"He broke my necklace. It was the last thing I had of my mother"

His face softens and he strokes your cheek with his thumb.

"Oh sweetie"

He kisses your forehead then hugs you.

"I will get you a new one, I know it won't be like the one your mother had but it will be just as beautiful."

You smile and kiss his thumb.

"How are your legs doing?"

"They hurt"

He chuckles

"It's gonna be like that for 2 more weeks or so"

You sigh and lean back.

"How long have I been here?"

"A couple of months."

"How's my brother doing?"

"He's been coming in every day to check in on you."

You smile softly.

"Has he come in today?"

"Not yet, he's probably on his way though"

You smile then look at the ceiling. You take Tords hand in yours. He smiles and kisses your hand.

"It's so nice to hear your voice"

You glance at Tord. He smiles softly then his face slightly drops.

"What's wrong?"

He sighs and sits up.

"I want to tell Tom"

"Tell him what exactly?"

"Tell him about us. I don't want to hide it anymore. It's so nice to have these moments with you but they always end because someone comes around"

You bite your lip.

"But you know how he will act, he will get pissed off and might hurt you"

Tord chuckles

"I highly doubt that"

"What makes you so sure?"

He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a tranquilizer.

"It won't be the first time he's tried to hurt me"
