Donghyuck didn't go out drinking that night. Nor did he take a detour to hang out somewhere. Instead, he went straight home—a choice that felt strange to him. It was unusual how content he felt after spending time with Gayoon, as though just being in her presence filled some empty part of him he hadn't realized existed.
Soulmate things, huh, Lee Donghyuck?
His gaze drifted to the glowing tattoo on his wrist. The once faint green mark now shimmered vibrantly, illuminated under the soft moonlight filtering through his window.
For years, he had hoped that the tattoo would remain a faint, barely-there hue. But now, seeing its full color, he couldn't help but feel mesmerized.
Though he would never admit it outright, Donghyuck knew what this feeling was. Happiness. A pure, genuine happiness that he hadn't sought out but found anyway.
"You're one hell of a challenge, Shin Gayoon," he muttered, his thumb brushing over the glowing mark. The faint smile on his lips faded as a question lingered in his mind.
"Should I really let you in?" he whispered to the night. Am I ready for this?
The morning was anything but peaceful.
"GOOD MORNING!!!"
Donghyuck shot upright in bed, startled awake by the piercing shriek of Yizhuo.
"What the—" He blinked furiously, glaring at the younger girl standing triumphantly by his bed.
"Oh," Yizhuo cleared her throat, ignoring his glare. "The twins are here."
"Fuck," Donghyuck grumbled, flopping back onto his pillow.
"Language!" Yizhuo exclaimed, swatting his arm.
"Lee Yizhuo, get out!"
"Not until you make me food," she demanded, hands on her hips.
"Why don't you ask the twins?"
"They can't even boil water properly. Do you want me to starve?"
Donghyuck groaned but swung his legs out of bed, dragging himself toward the kitchen. "You're impossible."
After a chaotic breakfast filled with bickering, Yizhuo found herself engaged in another mini fight with Donghyuck over her outfit.
"It's hot outside!" she protested.
"It's not an excuse for wearing that," he retorted, tossing her his cardigan.
The twins—Mark and Jeno—watched the exchange with barely concealed amusement as they drove Yizhuo to the mall.
"Don't spend too much," Donghyuck warned as they dropped her off.
"Fine! Just one Hermes bag, then?"
He glared.
"Okay, Dior!"
