The meeting (1/2)

My hands were sweaty as I drove my Jeep down the highway. I had run out of milk last week and was just now going to buy a carton. My bank account had slowly been shrinking after I lost my job at Publix. Apparently someone with more "punk" and "energy" was being hired and replacing me. My thoughts were scattered when I hit a sudden speed bump pulling into the store. I decided to go through the side entrance so it wouldn't be too obvious-

*CRASH*

A sudden pain rushed to my groin as my elbow smashed someone's face.

"OW OMG WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING IDIOT"

My face turned bright red with embarassment. "I'm so sorry I-I-I didn't know you were there...."

"Ya, me neither. You okay?"

"Uhhh, just a little bruised haha but I guess I'm okay.."

"Well what are you doing in here anyway?" The tiny red head asked.

"You see, I kind of recently lost my job here and was nervous to come in. And are you new? Because I don't recognize you from working here before."

"Ya I just got hired. They said something about 'filling in a spot for someone they really needed to get rid of' Whatever that means."

It all was starting to make sense, they had wanted to get rid of me from day one. Was it because of my bad attitude? My laziness? Possibly the pack of gum I had "borrowed".

"Wanna ditch this place I'm already bored?" She asked while looking up at me with an almost perfect smile.

"Sure but where would we go?" Was the only thing I could spill out of my mouth with so many nerves.

"Why not Pappy's Pizzaria?"

"OMG I was thinking the same thing." My smile reached from ear to ear as I realized she could be the one.
