chapter 1

it was a long day at work for espresso, he had just finished inventing with coffee magic a new magic candy used to amplify a cookie's power. It had taken him so long and to relax he sat down on a bench in the cookie kingdom when madeleine approached him suddenly excited and happy, he looked like a puppy..how cute. "What are you so happy for, Madeleine?" asked espresso, very concerned but in awe. "There's a new cookie in the kingdom!! wanna go say hi to him? he's at herb's flower shop" "Alright. I've had a long enough day so maybe this will help me cool down.." Espresso replies in an exhausted tone, basically about to pass out from tiredness "Let me get an espresso first real quick Madeleine, you can go already and i'll catch up." "Alright, make sure to come tho okay? i know you don't get along with new cookies but..i'm sure this new guy will be interesting!" Madeleine says in a worried-ish tone, all he wanted was for Espresso to make new friends. "Don't worry, i'll make sure to swing by as i said." As soon as Espresso said that, he went to his coffee shop to make some espresso..that was his 7th cup that day and honestly he may be a coffee addict by now as well as a coffee manipulator.
"Wow..this kingdom is fantastic!! I'm glad i moved here, especially because of how beautiful this flower shop is." you thought as you smiled and happily paced around the shop and looked at all of the flowers and herbs in it. You loved nature and one day you want to master nature magic, but not anytime soon because for now your best bet was healing magic and that's all you can focus on since starting over to learn a new magic technique without being sure of what you're doing is never advised. As you lost yourself in your thoughts you heard a distant voice and turned around to see..another cookie? no shit it's a cookie kingdom y/n, of course there will be other cookies..but you didn't expect any to approach you. "hi new cookie!! what's your name?" he asked. He had long silky blonde hair and something similar to a knight's armor with a sword on his back "Hello! my name is y/n. Can i help you with something?" you said smiling but honestly you were very concerned. Was he a knight? did you do something wrong? are you gonna get arrested? oh lord. so many thoughts and questions were running through your head.. you knew you were a troublemaker but this was just your first day! what the hell is going on. "Oh nono, i just want to become friends with you, and my...friend wants to as well but he has yet to reach us. My name is Madeleine by the way!" said the blonde cookie while having a welcoming smile plastered on his face "Oh! nice to meet you then Madeleine..i was kinda scared for a bit!!" you say while awkwardly laughing, jeez this is so weird to you, but if one cookie wanting to be friends with you wasn't enough, his friend wanted to as well?! oh god..this is so very awkward "So..when will your friend be here? he seems to be taking a long time!" you asked, having no idea what to talk about with Madeleine "Oh he should be here so-" your new so called friend was saying until another cookie came from behind him and interrupted him "I've actually been behind you for a while Madeleine, i'm surprised you didn't notice.." the new cookie said as he smirked at Madeleine which was surprised "I assume you're madeleine's friend! What's your name, sir Evil?" you asked and laughed right after at the nickname you gave to the new cookie. He actually didn't look all that bad..he had short black ish hair with a lighter streak and round glasses.."lol nerd" you thought to yourself and you kept looking at him. He had a long cape and honestly very deep eyebags..wow, you didn't think cookies would have eyebags. "My name is Espresso, sir no manners, and he told you me and him are friends? oh no..I could never be friends with someone who practices light magic! why'd you do that?" Espresso said while glaring at Madeleine "Uhm...i didn't want to confuse the newcomer okay! And plus, we're kinda getting closer now right?! We are like friends! accept it already Espresso" "Never. We're only closer cause of a mission, not cause of my volountary will..tch" said Espresso who then walked closer to you "Now now..y/n right? you look interesting..but i am not very good at conversing so if you really wanna be friends, do not expect me to be like sir puppy over there." you laughed at the 'puppy' nickname, knowing very well it was aimed at Madeleine "Yeah i kinda realized.. but that's fine to me!! but i'm quite literally the opposite of you, so don't expect me to just give up on you if you dont talk to me for a week!" you said, laughing and looking at Espresso who was looking at Madeleine until he heard you saying the last few words and looked back at you, seeing you stare at him but not stopping when he caught you. "Do i look so pretty you cant take your eyes off of me..pretty boy? too bad i'm too hot tempered for people like you" he said, laughing as he had just cracked a coffee pun and walking away back to his shop to stay alone for a while. Meanwhile, you were left with no words at what he had just said..so narcissistic!! ugh, you just wanted to get back at him for saying that.."omg..i have an idea!!!!" you thought to yourself as you said bye to Madeleine and left rushing to follow Espresso.
"Finally some peace...sigh, that y/n is most definitely toublesome hm? i can't wait to see what will happen with him. I also wonder, what magic does he practice? i really hope it's not that disgusting light magic!! it would just ruin the vibe he gives off to me, man" Espresso said to himself at the shop when all of a sudden, while looking out the window, he saw y/n getting yelled at by the one and only Financier..he decides to go check out whats going on "Why were you following Espresso?! That looked very shady, new cookie. You better stay in your place. Knowing that introverted guy, he would never have 'friends' or people over to his shop so don't lie to me.What were your intentions?!" yelled Financier at y/n "Financier scolding y/n is kind of funny not gonna lie.. but y/n was following me? interesting." thought Espresso, but figured out it's better if he goes there and tries to get him out of trouble. "Financier. Do not worry, there is nothing shady going on here and i can assure you that i had actually asked him to come to my shop." Espresso said, basically saving your butt from one fo the biggest scoldings of your cookie life, but what caught you offguard was Espresso actually defending you..?? wasn't he anti social?! "Yeah!!! yeah he asked me to come over! so don't scold me again without any proof, miss perfect!" you said as you then walked towards the shop without a care in the world but, in reality, you were shaking so goddamn bad.
"..So?" "So what?!" "Why were you following me y/n? i don't think i did anything too bad to deserve a new cookie being so bothersome towards me.." "No reason! i just wanted to get to know you more, sir narcissistic." You said, still hiding the truth from him. Little did Espresso know he was up for a big surprise.. "Liar." ?! WHAT?! how'd he know?! "HUH?! what do you mean by Liar?!" "It's quite obvious that you came here cause of what i said earlier..but my shop isn't a good place to talk about this. It'll just be inconvenient" "Woah..how did you know i came for that exact reason tho?" "I didn't." You're so confused at that point. What?! "It's called manipulation, y/n. I lied about knowing why you truly came and you gave yourself out to me! so, thank you indeed" He said, with a smirk on his face and about to burst into laughter "THAT'S NOT FAIR!! Whatever. I'm leaving then!" "Awww, okay then. Bye bye bothersome cookie, see you another time!" Espresso said while winking at you.
"I really don't usually act like this with cookies..why is y/n so good at pushing me over my boundaries? is it the way he talks? i do not know...hmm, but i feel like maybe, friendship with him may be possible." was the last thought full of doubts that Espresso had about y/n before they got close and hung out every day. Espresso was a totally different cookie around him but he really couldn't control it! If he tried to act with y/n like he did with everyone else, he would just feel like a total prick, which he knows he is but he doesn't care about being one around anyone else but..you. Why?! even Espresso was confused but little did he know, perhaps, he was starting to grow a liking to you..
Finally the day came where Espresso decided to ask you what type of magic you practice and..the reply had surely shocked him. "Light magic?! oh how absurd! i cannot believe you would practice such a boring and disgusting type of magic, y/n!" "HEY IT'S NOT MY FAULT I DON'T KNOW ANY OTHER TYPE OF MAGIC! now calm down. If you're truly so bothered about MY preferred type of magic, then how about being useful for once and help me learn another one?" "Is this your personal way of..asking me out, y/n? i mean, i knew men like you were into hot coffee but i didn't think you would be so bold about it.." "Ask you out..? i only asked you to teach me another type of magic." "Woah there, i was just joking to mess with you! you didn't take it seriously right?" at the sound of those words you did feel slightly bad but it was nothing. You just brush it off and decide to go back to herb's flower shop..or at least you thought that's where you were going. Espresso quickly grabbed your wrist and got close to your ear. Oh lord, the words that came out of his mouth next left you more shocked than anything that's for sure! "By the way, I wasn't joking earlier." And before you could realize what he had said, poof, he was gone and couldn't be found for the rest of the goddamn day. This left you in a really bad mood and you decided to ignore him the next time he wouldve spoken to you..
"Y/N! this is going way too far now. I have to tell you something super important and all you do is ignore me!" "..." "Y/n for the love of god this isn't funny anymore." You laughed, seeing Espresso so angry was kind of funny but fine, you gave up the act. "Alrightttt Alright. Sorry coffee boy! now. what did you wanna tell me?" You asked smiling. To be honest, you were curious, so why not? "Finally! gosh, what a troublesome watse of time this was to get you to finally listen to me! ahem, anywa-" all of a sudden tho, Madeleine texts you something very important.. "Hm? oh..i just got a very important text by Madeleine! sorry, i gotta run!! you can tell me tomorrow maybe?" "What? oh. You know what? fine, but be ready for tomorrow then. It won't be a easy day for you, sweets." Espresso says as he winks and then goes away, while still being mad but that's not so important. Y/n was speechless after having heard that but.. the text was more important.
"So, what is it Madeleine? i got in trouble to come here, so make it quick. I think Espresso is kinda mad at me.." "About him. I noticed you've gotten closer and as much as i'm glad that he finally has some friends, a disclaimer is always needed! He could end up manipulating you, so be careful to his words, okay? that was it. But if you'd like i would love to hang out with you tomorrow morning!!" You had already forgotten what Espresso said and agreed to hanging out with Madeleine in the morning of the next day.
"Strange, y/n isn't at our usual spot today..where could that bothersome troublemaker be?" thought Espresso as he looked everywhere for y/n until he saw him with Madeleine at his literal coffee shop. He knew Madeleine and y/n were close but that looked a lot like a date and Espresso couldn't help but feel slightly jealous..yesterday he was going to confess and got cut off by Madeleine, and now, he sees the person who messed up his chances on a, what seems to be, date with the person he could've had a chance with. Oh boy did that stir up some anger too in the black haired boy's head but he just ignored it and walked into the shop. He was not gonna let Madeleine ruin and take away from him one more thing in his life, especially if it was y/n on the line.
"So, me and Financier met up the other day and it was so awkward and funny!!! she did kinda talk down on me but i get it, you know, knight vs knight!" said Madeleine while laughing but at the same time y/n laughed as well.."I have never heard him laugh that way..oh my lord, i genuinely feel like this could be more than just a stupid kids crush." thought Espresso while being slightly red on his cheeks. "Ahem. Why hello Madeleine and y/n! what are you two disgusting light magic cookies up to today..?" Espresso said as he smirked trying to keep in his laugh "Oh hi Espres...so. OH GOD i forgot you had to tell me something important today!! sorry Madeleine, i really gotta go, Espresso said it was important and i just remembered, bye bye!" you said while looking down in embarassment and following Espresso, who didn't even have to say anything, outside of his coffee shop. "I'm glad you ended up remembering...good boy. So, why don't we go to my laboratory? it's too important to just tell it out in the open." "Oh? i mean, sure! but why the laboratory?" "Well, i feel better everytime i'm in there. As if i was at home" Espresso said while smiling. Maybe he's saying the truth? he looks so peaceful when he smiles like that.. "Alright then!"
They head to the laboratory and Espresso did not hold back.
"Y/n, can i finally say what i had to say now?" "Of course!! i'm sorry for interrupting you yesterday.." "No worries, karma comes back for everyone, silly boy. Now now..I'll be quick and straight to the point okay? I really like you and i have for all this time. I won't even deny the fact that you've made my bothersome world, a little less bothersome. But after your little stunt yesterday, i feel like you don't deserve such a peaceful and cute confession.." "OH UHM I like you too!!! a lot at that! but..what do you mean by your last words?" Oh how you wish you would've shut your mouth up in that moment. Luckily enough Espresso was used to you not catching up on things quickly but..he didn't reply with words. He replied with his honest action and grabbed your chin with his index finger, aiming it up so that you could look straigh in his eyes. He then got closer and closer to your ear and whispered "May i kiss you, good boy? i'll explain what i meant later. No worries.." oh..oh godness. you felt as if your cheeks had just exploded and you were wide-eyes and speechless..completely taken back at that! But, you loved him and you've been wanting to make out with him for who knows how long. "Please do, charming prince." You replied, with the same tone as his and in a heartbeat, he kissed you. His lips so soft you could kiss him all day and his chapstick tasted so much like espresso it felt like drinking it. This all felt too much like a dream and you couldn't believe it was true but..he didn't stop there, not at all. He inserted his tongue inside your mouth without even needing to try since you were waiting for it to happen and didn't hesitate the moment you slightly felt his tongue on your lips. You get in a heavy making out session with him and you can't stop at all..it was so addictive and he kept being more and more dominant every single second that passed. It all happened so quickly and yet, it also seemed like forever had passed, but you finally broke the kiss and gasped out for air thinking 'ah yes this must be it now i can probably go home and chill and text Espresso all day' but you were wrong. "Wait for me here okay, pretty boy? i'll be back in a second.." said Espresso as he went into another room of his laboratory. Meanwhile, you were still breathing out for air and you kept reminiscing the delicious taste that Espresso had but then he came back with a collar, a tie and..a leash? what in the world.. "Now now..sit down on your knees, will you? i'm sure you won't disobey my orders, right good boy?" Espresso said in the hottest tone of voice you ever heard. You couldn't disobey his orders even if you tried and you sat down in front of him, on your knees. "Well done. I love it when you listen to me y/n.." he said while putting on the collar and attaching the leash to it, then tying the tie on your neck as well below the collar. Next thing you know, he pulls on the leash, nearly choking you, and looks you dead in the eyes "Let's get serious now..shall we?"
