Chapter 14: BenchWarmer

Never would I have ever thought that it was that I would be sitting at where it was that I was at right now, all at the exact same time too, at that. Well of course, unless it was that it was on defense, and we were in fact playing a weak team at that. As that was just simply not the case for me at all this game, at that.
I was not getting any playing time what so ever on the field, all at the exact same time as well, never the less, at that. As I kind of just had my head a bit low to the ground, as I knew that I used to be a star. And now what was I? I was a bench warmer now, I suppose, as I would keep the seats warm for Johny, and everyone else, all at the exact same time too, at that.
Which they would need that for sure, as I knew that they too would be sitting on the bench a lot this game, all at the exact same time too. As I was not all too sure if it was the fact that the other team just had an insanely good defense, at that. Or if it was that the fact that our offense was actually this bad, all at the exact same time too, at that.
As the score to the game was 21-0 and we were only half way through the 2nd quarter, all at the exact same time too, at that. As 2 of the touch downs that they had got was due to the fact that 1 had been a pick 6, due to an awful read by the quarterback. And the other one had been a fumble that had been taken back by a touch down, all at the exact same time too, at that.
The other and last touch down had been simply on a punt return for a touch down, all at the exact same time too, at that. As our defense was actually playing fairly decent so far this game, when ever it was that they were on the field at the very least, all at the exact same time too, at that. As they had about 3 possessions in which they had gotten a few stops near mid field, all at the exact same time too.
It was simply just the awful play by our offense that was in fact letting them have an easy victory. As I was sure that even if it was that the other team did not score for this rest of this game, all at the exact same time too. That we still would not have a chance in this game what so ever, all at the exact same time as well, at that.
We had only gotten 1 single first down on a lucky run play, all at the exact same time too. It was a good play and a couple of broken tackles by Denzel, all at the exact same time as well. But that was just about it for us, as far as it was that we could in fact get going so far, at that.
As I could tell that the coach was in fact frustrated, all at the exact same time too, at that. As he simply just had his head a bit low to the ground, as he simply just did not seem to be saying a word what so ever right now. Besides the occasion that it was that he did in fact call a play, which was usually going to end up in a loss of yardage, all at the exact same time too.
I kind of felt like I could not help but to feel a little bit bad for the poor man, all at the exact same time as well, never the less, at that. As I simply just seemed to stand there, and I simply just seemed to stare at him for just a little bit longer, all at once. Until it was that I felt like I could not bare to do as such a thing like that for any longer, never the less.
I kind of simply just seemed to go right on ahead, all at the exact same time as well, at that. And I got my eyes, and my mind on to just what it was that was even going on in the field, all at the exact same time too. As this was a home game, and not really all too many fans were in fact in the bleachers, all at the exact same time too.
I kind of rolled my eyes a little bit to my self, all at once. As I knew that it was that it would in fact make a bit of some sense to me, at that. As I knew that it was that we were in fact in a juvenile facility, all at the exact same time as well, at that. I kind of just seemed to let out a little bit of a soft sigh to my self, all at once, at that.
In the end, I kind of just seemed to shake my head a little bit to my self, at that. As I simply just seemed to start to hear the voice of our quarterback, all at the exact same time too. As he then began to start to get ready to snap the ball, all at the exact same time too.
"Down... Seeeetttt... Huh... Huh... Hike..." He yelled, as it was clear that he was trying to get the defense off guard, and for the to call an encroachment penalty, all at the exact same time too. But sadly, he was awful with it, as the words that were coming out of his mouth did not even seem like, if it was that I was not going to lie to my self either, never the less, at that.
That it was like he was going to call the snap, at that. At least, until the last one, as of course, to no such sort of surprise to me what so ever. The defense knew it was coming, all at the exact same time too, at that. As I saw that it was in fact a blitz call that was in fact going on, on the defense, at that.
As I saw that our offensive line just fell apart just as soon as it was that the ball had even gotten in to the hands of the quarterback, all at the exact same time too, at that. As I saw that he just then did in fact seem to give the ball to Denzel, all at the exact same time too, at that. But just as it was that he had in fact just seemed to start to do as such a thing like that, all at the exact same time as well, at that.
That was when I just then did in fact seem to start to notice that all at the exact same time too, never the less, at that. That all of the sudden, I then did in fact seem to start to see that the defense was right on him. As Denzel clearly was not all too sure as to just what it was that he should do all at the exact same time as well.
As I saw him get taken to the ground by perhaps 2 or maybe 3 players, all at the exact same time too. As I saw that the only thing that he could simply do, was to protect his head and protect his back, all at the exact same time too, never the less, at that. As I saw that he then did in fact get taken straight to the ground on a 2nd and 10 play, all at the exact same time too, at that.
Which now seemed like it was going to be 3rd and 13, all at the exact same time as well. As I kind of just simply seemed to roll my eyes a little bit to my self, at that. As I kind of just seemed to start to go right on ahead, all at the exact same time as well, never the less, at that.
As it was that I had in fact just seemed to start to do as such a thing like that, all at the exact same time too. That was when I just then did in fact seem to start to go right on ahead, all at once, at that. And I just then did in fact begin to start to speak to my self, all at the exact same time as well, at that.
"God... What I would not do to be on that field right now..." I said to my self, all at the exact same time as well, at that, never the less. As I knew that damn well it would not really matter all too much any ways. If it was that the offensive line was going to be that bad every play at that.
As even if it was that I was a quarterback or a receiver. They would simply just take me down, and that I would not have any time to make any plays, never the less. Though I felt like all that it was that I could simply do right now, all at the exact same time too, at that. Was to simply just dream on as a long as it was that I felt like I could do, at that.
I kind of just seemed to hold my head a little bit low to the ground, all at the exact same time too, at that. As it was that I had in fact just seemed to start to do as such a thing like that for just a little bit more time, at that. That was when I kind of just simply seemed to shake my head a little bit to my self, all at once, at that.
As I knew that it was my own fault once again, at that. And I was sure that as much as it was that I wanted to be a receiver, all at the exact same time as well, never the less. That just based off of the fact that it was that I had in fact fallen off the treadmill last night. And I did in fact have burns on my leg, all at the exact same time too.
That it was simply just the fact that I could not be a receiver, all at the exact same time as well. Which did in fact hurt my a lot, if it was that I was going to be for real with my self. As I knew that was all that it was that I had really ever dreamed of being, all at the exact same time too, at that.
I kind of just seemed to stand there and stare for just a little bit more time, all at once, at that. As in the end, I just then did in fact seem to start to all of the sudden, all at once. I then did in fact begin to start to hear the voice of Peter, all at once, at that. As it was clear that he was in fact speaking back to me, all at once. As it was clear that he had in fact heard as to just what it was that I had said to my self a few moments ago, at that.
As it was that I had in fact just seemed to start to hear his voice as it was that he had in fact just seemed to start to do as such a thing like that, all at the exact same time too. That was when I just then did in fact seem to start to go right on ahead, at that. And I just then did in fact begin to start to lift my head up, all at once. As I just then did in fact begin to start to turn my head on over towards him, at that.
As it was that I had in fact just seemed to start to do as such a thing like that, all at once, at that. That was when I just then did in fact seem to start to go right on ahead, all at the exact same time as well, never the less. And I just then did in fact begin to start to tilt my head a little bit on over towards him. Letting him know that I was a little bit lost as to just what ever it was that he was doing right now, at that. But I was in fact at the very least, paying my full attention on to just what ever it was that he did in fact even need to say to us all right now, at that.
As it was that I had in fact just seemed to start to go right on ahead and do as such a thing like that, all at the exact same time as well. That was when he just then did in fact seem to start to go right on ahead of course. And I just then did in fact begin to start to continue to hear his voice as it was that he did in fact just seem to start to continue to speak to me all of the sudden, at that. I of course did in fact just seem to start to go right on ahead and listen as to just what ever it was that he did in fact feel like he even needed to say to me rught now, all at once, at that.
"Well... That simply is just not your choice... It's up to the coach..." He said to me, all at the exact same time as well, at that. As it was kind of annoying as to just what it was that he had in fact even just said to me, at that. But I simply knew that it was in fact the truth, all at the exact same time too.
I knew that I was not the same star player that it was that I might have once been, all at the exact same time too, at that. But I also knew that it was of course, never the less, at that. That he was not the same coach from the last school that it was that I had in fact been at, all at the exact same time as well, never the less, once again.
I kind of simply just seemed to stand there and stare for just a little bit more time, all at once. As I kind of squinted my eyes at him at first, at that. Which I kind of regretted right away of course, never the less. As I was lucky to see that he did not have his eyes on me at all what so ever, all at the exact same time too.
As it was clear that his eyes, and that his focus was back on to the football field, at that. As I kind of just seemed to start to under stand as to just why that was the case, all at the exact same time as well, never the less. As I just then did in fact begin to start to hear the quarterback of our team, as it was that he once again just then did in fact seem to start to step up and yell, just as it was that he had done earlier.
As I kind of just seemed to start to get my focus and attention on to that all of the sudden, all at once. As I then did in fact turn my head, and I got my eyes on to just what ever it was that was in fact going on right now. As I just then did in fact begin to start to listen as to just what it was that he did in fact feel like he even had to say to the entire team, all at once, at that.
"Down... Set... Hike!" He said, as this time he did not try to trick the defense what so ever, all at the exact same time too, at that. As I saw that we were in a shotgun snap on a 3rd and 14, all at the exact same time too, at that. As I just then did in fact seem to watch as it was that the center then did in fact seem to start to snap the ball on over towards him, all at the exact same time too, never the less, at that.
As the snap was a little bit too high, all at the exact same time too. As luckily our quarterback did in fact jump up and catch it at the last second, all at the exact same time too. But unluckily enough for him, all at the exact same time as well. I saw that it was that it had in fact just seemed to be going all game, at that.
That the offensive line just seemed to do nothing what so ever, all at the exact same time too. As I saw that there were already 2 to 3 men sprinting right on over towards our quarterback, all at the exact same time too, at that. As I kind of just seemed to start to go right on ahead, all at once, at that.
And I just then did in fact seem to start to notice that all at once. That luckily enough for us, rather than it being 4th and for ever. The quarterback did in fact just seem to toss the ball out of bounds, all at the exact same time as well, never the less. As he luckily had simply just seemed to get it away in just the knick of time, at that.
I watched the ball sail out of bounds, as I kind of just let out a bit of a rough sigh to my self, all at the exact same time too, at that. As this felt like even when it was that I was in fact going to get my chance, all at the exact same time as well, never the less. That I was sure that it was not going to matter all too much what so ever, all at the exact same time too, never the less.
As it was that I had in fact just seemed to stand there, and I had in fact just seemed to stare for just a little bit more time, all at once. That was just when I then did in fact begin to start to feel a hand grab on to my shoulder, all at the exact same time too. Which did in fact make me freak out a little bit, all at once, at that. As I just then did in fact turn my head around to just see as to who ever it was that was in fact doing as such a thing like that right now, never the less.
As it was that I had in fact just seemed to start to go right on ahead and turn my head around, all at the exact same time as well, at that. That was when I just then did in fact seem to start to go right on ahead and notice that it was of course. That it was Thomas, as he was the punter and the kicker for our team right now, at that. As he was in fact just seeming to start to step up and speak to me before it was that he just then did in fact seem to start to go right on to the field, at that.
As it was that I had in fact just seemed to start to notice that it was in fact the case, all at once, at that. That was when I just then did in fact seem to start to go right on ahead, all at the exact same time too, at that. And I kind of simply just then did in fact seem to start to nod right on over towards him, all at the exact same time too. As I kind of simply just then did in fact seem to start to let him know that I was in fact paying my full attention on to just what ever it was that he did in fact feel like he even needed to say on over towards me just now, at that.
As it was that I had in fact just seemed to start to go right on ahead and do as such a thing like that, all at once, at that, never the less. That was when he just then did in fact seem to start to continue to speak on over towards me, all at once, at that. As I of course did in fact just seem to start to listen as to just what it was that he did in fact have to say to me, all at once.
"Hell... I wish I was in your shoes right now... I think I'd rather be on the bench this game..." He said to me, as he had a little bit of a joking smile on his face, all at once, at that. As I knew that he was in fact simply just joking as to just what it was that he had even been getting at right now.
As I remembered that in the punt return for a touch down, he had in fact simply tried to stop the man from getting to the end zone, all at the exact same time too. But sadly and painful enough for him, as I remembered that he had kind of came of the field limping during that play. That he had in fact got slammed to the ground, as he did not stand a chance against the guy who was nearly a foot taller than him, and probably over a hundred pounds bigger than him, at that.
I kind of cracked a little bit of a smile to him, all at the exact same time too, all at once, at that. As I just then watched as it was that I saw him and Peter go right on to the field, all at the exact same time too, at that. As it was clear that they were in fact going to go and get ready to punt the ball, all at the exact same time as well, never the less.
It was clear that it had in fact lightened the mood for him at the very least, all at the exact same time too, at that. As I simply just seemed to stand there and stare for just a little bit of some time, all at once, at that. As I just watched as he turned his head away from me, all at the exact same time too, at that, never the less.
And he just then did in fact begin to start to run on to the field, all at the exact same time too. I was happy for him that he was getting his chance to do some thing at the very least. But I was not all too happy for us, and as well as the fact for my self, all at the exact same time too. As to the fact that it was that it seemed like I was not going to get a shot any time soon to make a move, all at the exact same time too, never the less, at that.
I was almost tempted to go on ahead over towards where it was that the coach was standing up at, all at the exact same time too. And I was tempted to ask him to give me a shot since we were losing this badly. But I felt like I did not want to blow any sort of chance of me getting a chance in the near future, at that.
As I was fairly certain with the way that our team was playing right now, all at the exact same time too. That I was sure that I did not want to go on to that field right now, at that. As I knew that I would get destroyed, all at the exact same time too, at that.
I kind of just simply seemed to let out a little bit of another soft sigh to my self, all at once, at that. As I just then did in fact seem to simply begin to close my eyes for just a little bit more of some time, at that. As just as it was that I had in fact just seemed to start to do as such a thing like that. That was when I just then did in fact begin to start to whisper a little bit quietly to my self, all at once, at that.
"That's right Grant... You're just a bench warmer..."
