Chapter: 10

"Colonel!" Ed walked in. "Hey, I heard you needed me." He plopped down on the couch.

"Back from your trip, I see, Fullmetal." Roy said.

"Yup, so what did you mention about the 5th lab?"

"That there has been more human experimentation and this time it has been a threat to the city. I'm going to look into this, and I might just need your help. You interested?" He raised his eyebrows and Ed nodded his head.

"Yeah, you came to the right guy. Meet me up later, we'll talk about this in private." He stood and started walking towards the door.

"Where would you like to meet?"

"I'm staying at the East City Hotel, room 117 ." He opened the door.

"Sounds good." Roy said just before Ed shut the door. He stood up then walked over to my desk.

"God, I hate people that start walking away while they're talking to you." Roy rolled his eyes and I chuckled.

"Oh, I need to talk to you about something important, too." He sat beside me and stared into my eyes.

"Yes, Colonel?" I tilted my head and he sighed.

"Of course because we plan to marry, I was wondering, who would watch the kids? I couldn't bring myself to always hand them over to Marie-"

"You wouldn't have to." I interrupted. "You know what I want, Roy. I want to be a mother and in order for that to work out I would have to give up my position in the military. It's going to be hard to not be by your side and make sure you're safe, but It's what will have to happen anyways. You know military regulations, once we get married I can't be one of your subordinates anymore. I just can't see this job being enjoyable without you and the other men." I looked up at him and reached up to touch his cheek.

"You don't have to worry about me, baby. I'll be fine." He started to smile. "The thought of coming home to you and however many children we have will be enough to get me through any battle. Really, I'll be fine." He leaned in and left a soft kiss on my lips.

"I love you so much, Roy." I rested my head on his shoulder and he propped his head up on mine.

"I love you too, Riza." He took my hand in his and gave it a small squeeze.

"Aww! Aren't you too just adorable!" Falman burst in and the other men followed behind.

"We heard everything." Breda sighed.

"And we're so happy for you guys!" Fuery threw his hands up into the air excitedly.

"We'll all miss you very much, Riza but the children will need their mommy. We respect your decision." Havoc smiled at the two of us.

"We're still proud of you for settling down, Roy." Breda smirked.

"You act like we won't be able to see each other ever again." I chuckled.

"Work will just be so different." Havoc tried to smile.

"This is a new chapter of my life and of course I want you all to be a part of it. I'll still be around if you need me." I smiled. "In a month or so I'll put in a two week notice or whatever." I stood and cleared my throat. "I apologize for dropping formalities, sir."

They all laughed. "You're too professional, how did you get stuck with this stiff?" Fuery jokingly asked Roy.

"It was pure luck being able to tie this one down." He chuckled and tickled my side.

I giggled and swatted his hand away. "It's gonna be nice to get away from you a few hours a day." I playfully rolled my eyes.

"You'll miss doing all of my paperwork." He laughed and I nudged his arm.

His phone rang and he walked over to his desk. The boys returned to whatever they were originally going to do and I started going through files.

"Since when do you go out after work anyway?" Rebecca laughed and took a sip of her beer.

"I just wanted to tell you this in person." I tapped the bottle with my fingernails.

"Well, spit it out." She nudged my arm.

"I'm resigning from the military."

Her mouth fell open and she leaned back. "Are you serious?"

"Yeah," I nodded.

"For what? What about Roy?" Her eyes were bulging out of their sockets.

"I can't be his subordinate anymore when we get married, plus I'll want to look after our children." I smiled.

"You're pregnant?" She stood up and stared me down. "I turn around for two seconds and you are preggers with Roy Mustang's baby?!"

"No! Quit making a scene!" I pulled her back down.

"Wow," She shook her head at me in amazement.

"You're taking this pretty hard, Becky." I chuckled.

"Yeah, no shit." She paused and thought about something. "It won't make much difference for me, honestly. We only see each other on our days off but you're getting married! And you are planning on kids but I'm over here still single." She looked at me in astonishment.

"You've been seeing Havoc!" I pointed out.

"Yeah, I suppose." She shrugged.

"So," She got a mischievous look on her face. "Is he good in bed?"

I burst out laughing. "Rebecca!" I slapped her with a napkin.

"What?!" She cackled.

"I suppose that's a pretty normal question for you."

"Is that supposed to mean something?"

I sighed. "Yeah, he's good." I smirked and shrugged my shoulders.

"How big is it?"

"Alright, Becky, stay in your lane." I held up my hand.

"I'm just curious!" She laughed.

"You're home later than I expected." Roy said as I hung up my coat.

"Yeah, well you know Rebecca." I smiled.

"Come here," He held out his hands.

I walked over to the couch and he pulled me into his lap.

"I scheduled our day off for our anniversary." He yawned and hugged me closer.

"Is that 8 months now?" I raised an eyebrow.

He nodded. "And It'll be a year on May 14th."

"It doesn't feel like it's even been that long." I shook my head, then gasped. "Aww how cute! We get to have our anniversary on Valentines Day." I cooed. "That's this Saturday isn't it?" He nodded.

He pulled the hair clip out of my hair and ran his hands through it. "When do you want to have the wedding?"

"How does this Summer sound?" I asked.

"Sounds wonderful." He smiled and pressed his lips to mine, slipping his tongue into my mouth shortly after.

"Let's go upstairs." I whispered in his ear, nibbling gently on his earlobe.

"As you wish."
