Ashen Demon

A/N: Some characters are aged up so it wouldn't look rather incriminating to those reading this given that Byleth is like 25 or 26 years old. The characters who are aged up to 18/19 are: Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke, Kanao, Genya, and Muichiro. Nezuko, on the other hand, is 17 since from what I understand, she is a year younger.

Both Tanjiro and Byleth winced from the loud shrill of a person begging from ahead of where they are. It didn't help that Byleth's heightened sense of hearing was ringing slightly in pain, making her grimace greatly. 

They looked ahead, and saw the source of the loud voice was coming from a teen around Tanjiro's age with familiar blonde hair and a haori that matches the color scheme of his hair with white triangles on it.

He was clinging onto a girl with dark hair, wearing a indigo kimono with a yellow sash with green vines printed on her midsection. Even from where they stood, they can easily hear and even see that he was crying and begging the girl to marry him, while she was trying to pry him off from her. As much as Byleth had a vague sense of seeing him somewhere before, the fact he is clinging onto the girl and begging her to marry him had ticked her.

There was a sparrow that looked in distress at the situation, and when the creature saw the two it instantly flew over to them. The sparrow was chirping while using its wings to gesture the scene. Even though it was chirping, it was plain obvious a normal person would not be able to grasp what it was trying to say.

But somehow, both of them did.

"PLEASE, I'M BEGGING YOU! MARRY ME PLEASE!"

And apparently Tanjiro felt the same way as Byleth, as the Kamado teen was quick to rush over and grabbed the crying blonde by the back of his haori to pull him away from the girl. He did it faster than Byleth could, even though she may or may not done something a little worst. Like hitting him atop of his head in a not-so merciful manner.

"What do you think you're doing, causing a scene in the middle of the road?!" Tanjiro starts to scold him like he is scolding a misbehaving child. "Can't you see that she wants no part into it?! And don't go causing trouble for your sparrow either!"

"H-Huh?" Zenitsu looks at him, and noticed the uniform right away. "T-That uniform! You're that guy from the Final Selection!"

"What are you talking about?! Don't pretend we know each other!"

"Ehhh?! What are you saying?! I was there in the Final Selection like you! Don't you remember?!"

Tanjiro simply drops him down, and turns to the girl.

"Sorry about that. With that taken care off, you can head back home without any worries." he tells her, which made the girl smile gratefully and bow to him to show her appreciation.

"I will, thank you very much!" she responds. And apparently, Zenitsu didn't like the fact the girl was paying attention to Tanjiro and expressing her thanks to him. And he started screaming, as Byleth flinches and repressing the urge to cover her ears. Especially the urge to pummel the teen to the ground.

"HEY WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! BACK OFF, THAT GIRL WAS GOING TO MARRY M-"

The girl got irritated and slapped Zenitsu in the face, making him spin comically on his heels before dropping down to the ground because of how hard she slapped him. She tried hitting him further, but only managed to land one or two before Tanjiro held her back from harming Zenitsu any further. Which of course made him wailing.
