There was rain falling softly on the windows, Shay and Calum had decided to take refuge in each other and were laying on the couch, wrapped up in each other's arms. Calum was playing with strands of her hair, whilst she traced the shape of the tattoo's adorning his arms.

"Cal?" She asked softly, he simply hummed in response. Not wanting to break the spell of peace and quiet that currently surrounded them.

"I was thinking we could invite the group over today." She suggested, still keeping her voice low. Calum opened his eyes and looked at her.

"What were you thinking about really?" He asked.

A small smile rose on her face, it was pretty adorable how well he could read her sometimes.

"Don't get upset when I tell you, please." She replied, looking him straight in the eyes to convey how serious she was.

"Never." He responded sincerely, giving her a quick kiss on her forehead.

She stayed quiet for another moment, attempting to gather her thoughts.

"I was hoping we could ease some of the tension in the group." She finally said.

"The tension between?" He frowned.

"You and I both know damn well who I'm talking about." She replied to him, returning his frown. When Calum still didn't seem to understand her she finally blurted out, "Nia and Ash, dumbass."

Recognition lit up his face. "What are you planning to do?" he asked, secretly wanting to be involved in whatever she was scheming.

"I just thought that if we could at least bring them together they would be more likely to try and talk things out." Shay shrugged. "It worked for us."

Calum seemed lost in his thoughts for a moment, trying to envision the possible results of her plan. "It definitely wouldn't hurt to try." He said eventually.

"I was thinking we could invite everyone over for mocktail night?" She suggested, seemingly uncertain of her idea. "Seeing as Ash doesn't drink. And the rest of us usually prefer smoking anyways?"

Calum smiled at her softly, he secretly loved it when her more caring side appeared. She would never admit it, but she would do anything her friends asked for or needed.

"That sounds like a wonderful idea, love." He whispered into her hair. "Should I text them to come at six?"

"Maybe do seven." She replied, furrowing her brow. "That way we have time to get supplies."

Calum nodded before realizing she wouldn't be able to see it. "Sure." He replied, opening his phone.

"I asked them to come at seven thirty. That way we can cuddle a little longer." He told her, lying back down and pulling her close. She closed her eyes and leaned into him, not minding that change of plans at all.

Laur and Shay were in the kitchen getting the ingredients for the mocktails ready when the door rang. Shay immediately put down her knife and walked towards the hallway. When she got there she noticed that Calum had already opened the door, letting Ashton in.

"What? No Nia?" She frowned, looking at Calum briefly, whose attention was still focused on Ashton.

"No." Ashton replied, cringing slightly. "I haven't really spoken to her today, so I have no clue if she's coming."

"I'm sure she is." Calum replied, turning around to look at Shay to reassure her. Shay simply smiled at the pair before turning around and walking back into the kitchen. Laur immediately took note of how tense her friend seemed.

"Did something happen with you and Cal?" She immediately questioned.

"God no." Shay quickly replied, shaking her head. "Ash just arrived without Nia." She clarified. Laur's brows shot up.

"They're still not talking?"

"Apparently not." Shay replied, chewing on her lip. "I'm just hoping she'll show."

"You invited her personally right?" Laur asked, whilst walking towards the fridge and getting out some more fruit. Shay nodded in response.

"Then she'll show." She reassured her. As soon as those words left her mouth the door rang again. This time Calum announced that he'd open the door. A few moments passed before Nia walked into the kitchen, carrying a tray in her hands.

"Hey guys." She said excitedly, "Thank you for inviting me over."

"Of course." Shay replied, "We figured it was time for another group hangout."

"Absolutely." Nia said, a smile blooming on her face. "Where should I put the nachos?" She asked, lifting the container she was carrying. Laur pointed towards the living room and Nia immediately went over there. She stopped dead in her tracks when she noticed Ashton standing there, chatting with the boys.

"Go talk to him, Nia." Shay whispered to her as she walked past and Nia just nodded.

"Hey guys." She spoke as she walked over to the boys. Everyone said hello in return except for Ash who just looked at the floor.

"Ash, can we talk for a moment?" Nia asked.

"Yeah, of course." He answered. The pair walked out of the living room and into one of the guest rooms down the hall.

Nia immediately sat down on the bed whilst Ash hesitated in the doorway. Nia's face fell and she avoided eye contact with him. Eventually he just decided to lean against the wall, figuring that he could leave if he wanted to.

"So." Nia started saying, to break the silence. "How have you been?"

Ashton looked at her confused and shrugged. Another silence engulfed the two. Nia took a deep breath before speaking.

"Ash, I miss us. I'm so sorry for everything that I have said and done. I know that I was completely out of line and I'm sorry for putting you in an awkward position with our friends. Please come back home. It's so weird not having you there with me. These last 5 days without you have been the longest days of my life." Nia rambled.

"I miss you too and I would love to come home. I'm sorry for ignoring you and not talking this out until now. I just needed a couple of days to myself, I should have told you but I didn't and that is completely my fault." Ashton said, giving her a slight smile.

"You're the best thing that has ever happened to me and I don't ever want to lose you." Nia said, wrapping her arms around his neck.

"You will never lose me, I love you and I'm not going anywhere." He whispered against her lips.
"I love you too." She replied as she closed the space connecting their lips.
After a few moments, the pair pulled away. "Let's go out there and spend time with our friends now." Ash said, grabbing her hand. The pair walked hand in hand back to the living room. When they entered the living room, Cal nudged Shay causing her to look up. She looked over at Cal and smiled.

"You guys are good now?" Luke asked.

"Yeah, we're good." Ash said smiling as he sat down on the chair.

"Good now let's get this party started." Luke replied, taking a sip of his drink.
