Out of everyone like the boy in your 5 period class, or that one from Facebook, the one you met through your friend, they were never him. Out of billions of people, no one would ever compare to him. Why? Why couldn't you have known then what you know now? You let him slip through your fingers, and now, you will never forget him.💔
~Flashback to when you were 12~
You pull up to the old dirt road with the mountains surrounding, A smile painted so gracefully across your face. The car comes to a stop and you jump out. You take a slow, steady, deep breath of that amazing mountain air like an old friend or a lost companion. You grab you backpack out of the trunk and walk up the big half dirt half wooden steps. As you approach a table you discover your cabin and counselor for the week. You politely shake her hand. You knew this week was going to be amazing.
You began to unpack some of your belongings around a bunk in your cabin. You unrolled your sleeping bag with a smile. "Hey I'm Sam" said a girl above you leaning her head over the top bunk. "Oh...hello" you reply. You just found a new best friend.
That night you had "Night Games" where you were allowed to roam around in a fenced off area of forest. One of the counselor stood at the front of the room explaining the rules of the game, mission impossible. You sit at the side of the room where an open door leading to the forest stood open. You gaze up at the stars. They were brighter then the sun except...only more beautiful. They were so much more vibrant in the cool mountain air where you were so close, you could almost reach out and pluck a star from the sky of darkness. The bitter darkness. "Without the dark, the stars would not shine." You replay over an over in your head.
