Yay you're taking the time to actually read this!:) *Gives you a high five through the screen*. So you all aren't confused on when this story starts, it is right when each starts walking towards their houses after they just got back from finding Ray Brower. This is their thought process as they are walking back up to their houses. I am using one of the last scenes/parts, and I am starting my story off of that. Thank you! If you have any questions feel free to ask:)

CHAPTER ONE

Teddy's Thoughts

That Ray Brower kid sure was cut up. It was pretty cool. That ain't no baby stuff. Real deal, man. Maybe that Brower kid was trying to get away. I mean, who goes out that far for blueberries?Pro'bly trying to sneak out and join the Texas Rangers or some crazy shit like that.

Teddy then started singing,
"...Have gun will travel reads the card of a man, a knight without armor in a savage land..."

The now three boys stood there.

"I'll see ya whenever" said Vern as he was walking away towards his house.

Verns Thoughts

Wow that was sure scary. Finding him, all dead and stuff. I might get nightmares, and I don't want no nightmares. I wonder what mother made for dinner tonight. Oh great: Mother. What if the other boy's moms talked to mother about us campin at my back field. Oh no! I don't like mother mad, not one bit.

"Oh look, a penny!" Vern said and then picked up the penny and smiled, oblivious of everything else in the world, Vern was one thing and that was problem free.

As Gordie and Chris, being the only two left now walked to the treehouse in which the journey was born. Chris looked out onto the town

"I'm never gonna make it out of this town, am I, Gordie" Chris said.

"You can do anything you want, man" Gordie said.

"Yeah sure, give me some skin" Chris said.

"I'll see ya" said Gordie.

"Not if I see you first" said Chris.
Chris walked off.

Chris's thoughts

Wow what a ride. Man I'm scared for Gordie. He doesn't get that I'm here for him. He needs to realize that he shouldn't care what his dad thinks of him. That bitch doesn't know two shits about Gordie's life. It's bringing Gordie down so much, but he can't show it. I know how it feels to keep everything inside. Man, God gave him so many talents, all those stories he can write. God, can he write. I wonder what the old mans thinkin I'm doin right now. He's probably too drunk to notice I'm gone.

As Gordie stay standing there under the treehouse, he didn't want to go home to see his parents.

Gordie's thoughts

Hell, they won't even ask me where I was or why I looked so cut up, or why I have leech bruises all over me. They don't give a shit about me. Chris was right. Denny was the one they cared about. I could drop off the face of this earth and no one would notice besides my four friends. They're all I have. A thief and two feebs. THESE are the people I depend on in life. And my dad can kiss my ass if he wants to criticize anything about them.

CHAPTER TWO

As Gordie made his way up to the steps of this back door, he stood there prepared himself for the conversation with his parents, if he were to even have one. He'd walk in and his mom wouldn't say a word to him, and his father would ask him what he did at Verns. Once Gordie would be finished making up lies about camping in Vern's back field, his dad would ridicule him on how different he was compared to Denny. He already knew how the conversation would go. When Gordie opened up the door to his house, it wasn't too surprising. His mother was cooking something on the stove for supper, as she stares off into space. She did that when she was thinking about Denny which was about 99% of her time. She hadn't said a word since Denny died. His dad walked straight up to him and asked what trouble he got into. When Gordie replied with none and questioned why he had asked him that, his dad said something so bitter, that
Gordie had had enough.
