Ms.Rhapsodia.
That isn't my actual name, but everyone just calls me that. One might say it's a title, another might say it's a nickname, heck! Another might even say that it's an alias.
Though either way, it's not my actual name. But that's just an...irrelevant detail.
Anyways...
The massive building towers over all other buildings in this bustling urban area of Tokyo. It honestly almost felt like it stood at the center of the entire globe!
The school, known as none other than Hope's Peak Academy, was known to bring in top students from every field you can imagine! From something as simple as being a window-washer, to something as outlandish as a police officer, It's a government-funded school of great privilege!
There's a legend that says that if you come here and graduate, you'll be set for life! And with hundreds of years of tradition, it'll send the cream of the crop into the work force every year! It was built to raise Hope in the nation's future, and thus, I'd say that Hope's Peak is a fitting name!
However, they don't just let any ordinary students enroll here! There's 2 things you need to have before you can attend this academy.
1: You need to already be attending high school
And 2: You need to be better than anyone in your field of work
And as you can see, standing there at the entrance of this academy...
Was me.
Okay, let me back up a little bit. I believe that every friendship begins with an introduction of two people, so I believe I should introduce myself.
My name is Kiyoka Maki, nice to meet you! Now, I know it might not look like it, but I'm...not really your average high school student.
In fact, you could say that I'm a little more...Gung-Ho than most people.
Side Note: The term "Gung-Ho" is a fancy term for "overly enthusiastic or energetic"
Anyways, I figured that it'd be good to introduce myself right off the bat.
Looking up at the academy, I gulped. I was pretty tall for a 16-year old, but even then, the abnormal academic building's large structure felt so intimidating to me, like it would crush me if I walked any further into it.
Of course, I'd be intimidated! This is the classroom of elites we're talking about!
Hope's Peak only invites students who can truly be considered elite in their field of industry. There are threads online that talk about those who attend; they're so popular. Honestly, it's a little embarrassing...but they're helpful too!
I'm not really the type to be intimidated easily, but even then, I decided that it was best to do research more on my classmates beforehand, thinking that my future classmates did so beforehand.
There's a wide variety of different ultimates incoming, including a police officer, a professor, a soccer star, a maid, and even a pilot, and a lawyer. Now, there's a question you all might be wondering, what kind of Ultimate am I? Why did Hope's Peak accept me?
Well, you see, I got my letter a few weeks prior, asking me to come to Hope's Peak with the title of the Ultimate Sniper. It did make sense. I mean, I don't mean to honk my own horn here, I promise! But I've been known to have exceptional skills in using guns, air guns, and even darts & slingshots!
But, here's the thing...I...hate my talent. In all due honesty, I just wish to be a normal high schooler, in fact, I honestly just wanna leave the boring guns and travel the world! It's always been my biggest dream of being a world-traveler!
However, when I got the letter, I remember the look on my father's face. He, alongside my younger brother, Ryutaro, as well as my 2 friends, Rika & Yuzu, said that I should definitely go, since it would guarantee my life's success.
You can tell that I learned a lot from my father, he was a sniper himself, not the ultimate sniper , but he definitely wasn't a sniper to be fooled with. So I thought that going to this academy and learning more will be my way of showing gratitude to him for teaching me so much.
But still though...my legs are turning into jelly, and I'm unable to move...but I can't just stand here forever though! I decided to move to th entrance hall, where we'd agree to meet at 8am.
As soon as I stepped into the hall, I looked at the clock on the wall. It was 7:00. Another hour until the meeting happens. Hopefully, no one gets mad at me for being so early...or for looking around in the meantime. With confidence, I took my 1st step into Hope's Peak Academy...
And then...
Everything went black...
