I can see it now , Anne said that to Ronald while both stared at the bookshelf in Jake's office .
Jake is investigating Eyan Green, the man in the books.
It all started one week ago when his fiance Helena broke up with him, because she had cancer .
Next day he went looking for her everywhere but couldn't find a trace. It was like she didn't exist , he went to her workplace looking to talk things over but no one recognized her then he went to her parents house but the house wasn't there either .
Helena and Jake met on a Thursday afternoon one year ago in a public park they sat across from each other. Jake was with his sister Anne and her kids , helana was alone drinking a cup of coffee and staring at them .
Anne : Jake, look at that gorgeous woman staring at you, why don't you go and speak to her?
Jake : You think I should do that ? ifeel she's out of my league !
Helena smiled and weaved at jake , jake started looking behind him to check if it was meant to someone else
Jake asked Anne : what should i say ?
Anne : Just go already, you will know what to say .
Jake took several steps and his heart was beating like it was about to explode then he stood there and started admiring her beauty like it was only expanding endlessly .
Jake : Hi, how are you ?
Helena : Hi, okay , what about you ?
Jake : I am having a great day i was following sunset reflecting in your hazel eyes .Am Jake and you are ? .
Helena smiles : Nice to meet you Jake , I am Helena .
Jake: Would you care for a walk?
Helena : What about your family ?
Jake : that's my sister she's waiting on her husband Ronald
Jake : Shall we ?
Helena : yes sure
It was a long walk but they both couldn't get enough. Helena talked about how last year she went to Nepal and visited the great temple Pashupatinath , it was a life changer for her .
Jake felt like he never did , he saw what he felt in a frameless time , he believed there was no ending, only ongoing beginnings .
Helena : I guess this is me , thank you for walking me home Jake , I loved it .
Jake : We should do this again , I mean if you like that ?
Helena : Absolutely we should .
Since that day they were inseparable , she moved in with Jake and they were planning to get married as soon as they could .
But Helena was always secretive about her past. Jake never met her parents , but she always said that her parents' house was behind Milani bakery and next to the best steak restaurant .
There was a rehab center in that location with no sign of a house. That's what Jake found when he followed Helena's instructions under heavy security; it was more like a jail .
Jake went back home and went through her things he remembered the books she was reading only when he is not around, she never bought her books it was always delivered
And all the books had the same signature Eyan .
The one book that Jake suspected the most was food recipes book , Helena never cooked or even offered to make a sandwich.
Book was full of heighlated lines , numbers and letters. It was some type of code .
He stayed up all night to figure it out .
Jake was so tired that he slept on the chair while searching the meaning of all of this
He felt something cold on his neck then he opened his eyes slowly and saw one guy pointing a knife to his neck and the other one sitting on the seat next to the table
