How long have I been here? Days, months, years? The makluan was unsure. Except for the fact that time had passed. He'd heard a lot of sound a few months before. Well what he thought was a few months before? Though the sound had ended and he was trapped in an eternal silence.
It was then that he felt the shaking of a entrance opening. He could feel the energy of the rings. Someone's here. After all this time. If he could have moved, he would have been twitching with excitement. He could hear muttering above him.
He could hear the word 'Begin' uttered in Chinese. A loud rumbling sound came shaking everything around him. The test has begun. He could hear the ground above him begin to collapse and he felt the vibrations.
He could hear the thud of someone falling hitting the ancient stone floors, "Don't help me up or anything." He heard a young male voice say.
Children?! Why would children be in the makluan temple? He though to himself. He was surprised that children would be here of all places.
"Oh, are we friends now, helping each other?" Another voice replied back. "I assumed you and Pepper liking me."
"What? No, it's..."
"It's what? Jealousy? Or something else?"
"It's not that I don't like you, it's that I don't think you're good for Tony."
"I'm sorry. I didn't realise I was trapped down here with Tony's mom."
"We don't know anything about you! Look, Tony's obsessed with these rings, and all of a sudden you're here and just fuelling his obsession."
"Just because you think these rings are a waste of time doesn't mean Tony does. And if he wants to find them, and follow his father's dreams,... wouldn't a real friend help him?"
The makluan proceeded to hear footsteps grow closer until he saw two young teenagers. One with a Chinese dragon that's was yellow on a black shirt with yellow pants and white shoes.
Whilst the other, had mostly cloths that were different shades of blue. "Where are Tony and Pepper?"
"Maybe they fell in another section of the temple."
As they grew closer, the stone figure watched as they looked at the inscriptions on the walls.
"Well, we should go look for them." The other boy began to turn and look behind them.
The one with a dragon on it however looked down to see a green light admitting from his chest covering it with his hand. The reptilian statue watched with awe. One of the makluan rings. The makluan could only feel his heart jump a little. Maybe I was mistaken perhaps he could be... The other boy turned around to see multiple makluan seal in front them as the spun slowly.
The boy that had the rings turned to the inscriptions to see them light up, "This text. It's the history of the Makluan Rings. And their master." He gripped the rings tighter not wishing for his companion to see. "The very first Mandarin." The boy began once more reading the writing, "The man called Khan found the rings of power, and became the Mandarin. He conquered all he saw with his might and grew his dynasty."
"Really? It doesn't say the guy's name? Or what that is?" The other said pointing to the frozen statue.
They began to walk closer before looking at it. They stared up as the frozen figure loomed over them. The boy with the rings leaned forward before touching it causing a blinding white light to burst. The young humans shield their eyes for a moment before looking back to see all but stone left.
"What happened?" The other boy said.
"I was freed from that eternal state of stone." A deep voice said from behind them.
