The Shape Shifter

chapter 4

Skylars p.o.v

     I woke up when I heard the kids next door screaming. They are like my alarm clock cause they always scream and yell before they go to school. I groaned but stood up and stretched like a cat. Shifting back to my human form I walked over to my bowl of water to do my morning business.  I went over to my pile of clothes and picked some up to sniff them.

     "Ugh I definitely need to wash these!" I said to myself holding the clothes away from me. I would have to go to the river to do that later. Digging through the pile I found some jean shorts and a blue shirt that didn't smell that bad. Pulling on my black hoodie,  some converse, and my worn out backpack I jumped out the window.

     My school is about 30 minutes away and I have about an hour to get there. Let's get things straight I hate school. The kids and teachers ignore my presence unless it's to bother me, I have no friends,  and I get homework.  The only reason I go is because I get free breakfast and lunch. That and because I hope to be able to leave this place and start over somewhere else where I can make friends and live a normal life for once. My grades are mostly B's and A's which is good I guess.

     My stomach growled and I picked up my pace so I could get to school faster.  I noticed later that a black mustang was following me and I started freaking out on the inside. I've been kidnapped before but always managed to escape before anything happened. Making a quick right I ran into the woods. Fuck if I shift I will rip my clothes and my backpack! I heard footsteps behind me and ran faster. " Please stop!" I heard the person yell. I recognized the voice and it sent shivers through my body.  I kept running though because I still don't know how to deal with him right now.

     Suddenly my foot gets stuck in a root and I crash to the floor. Turning over quickly I look up with wide eyes at my mate.  He is standing there panting, trying to calm his breathing. "Damn you can run fast! Why were you running from me? Here." He stretched his hand down to me with a smile that made my heart stop for a second but I just stared at his hand. I started crawling backwards and his eyebrows came together in confusion. I can't touch him again it's already hard to stay away.

     Shaking my head I stood up and turned to run again while saying "I have to go." I started running again only to hear a whimper behind me. My body froze. I can't believe I made him upset. I didn't mean to but I don't want him to get to know me. What if he rejects me? I can't take the chance, it would break me if that happened! I let out a small whine but started running again.

    "Wait please don't go." He said as he grabbed my arm and spun me around to face him. I looked down at my shoes and said nothing. My mind was getting hazy because the hold he had on my arm was sending tingles through my body that were making it hard to consentrate.  "Please don't run anymore mate." He said in my ear, I closed my eyes. "I know you know who I am so why do you run from me?" He whispered to me and I shivered. He took a step closer so our chests were touching and I started panting a little.

     He tilted my head up and I opened eyes. His face was inches away from mine and I gasped. He arched his eyebrow in question and I blushed. Looking down I said "because I know you won't want me." I tried pushing away but he wrapped his arms around me so I couldn't move. What do I do?

     Just be with mate. My inner animal told me.

     But he won't like us!

     You don't know that. Mate doesn't seem to know who we are.

     But what if Ryder finds out? What then? I asked.

    Then we do what we must. he said.

    Oh and what's that?

     I will tell you if I have to. Now you must go with mate. He told me.

     When I focused back on Ryder I was pinned against a tree. He had his face in my neck and was putting light kisses around my neck. I trembled at the feel. I felt him smirk against my neck then he asked "Are you finally gonna come with me? It's not true what you said. I want to get to know you more not push you away. What's your name?" I didn't speak. I was scared. He licked my soft spot and I let out a small moan. He growled in approval and started grinding our shafts together and I full out moan. Shit I won't be able to stay away from him after this! "Well mate are you gonna tell me?"

     I blushed even more if that was possible."My name is Ty." I lied. I just didn't want him to know yet. He nodded and backed away smiling hugely.  When he was far enough away I bolted, running as fast as I could to school. I was gonna be late but I didn't care right now I only wanted to get away.

     Stop! Go back to mate! I want mate! My animal growled.

    I sighed later ok? Just give me some time please.

     Fine but I still want mate. He grumbled.

     Rolling my eyes I noticed I wasn't being followed anymore. I slowed down and walked into school going straight to the cafeteria to get breakfast.  I sat down to eat and hoped I wouldn't run into Ryder again but I know I will cause we have three classes together.  Math, P.E., and Art. I groaned.

     Today was gonna be a long day.

AN: do you guys like it when I tell the same stuff in both p.o.v.  or should I just continue from were the character before left off?
