Chapter 7 New home

Neo arrived in the hospital in the morning and had processed like everyone new patient. There she stood over the white line while man at the table in front of her was reading the patient's committal forms. He read it aloud, "Neo Politan. You are mute, aren't you?" Neo nodded. "You are here because represent a danger to others and especially for yourself. We suppose you have mental problems because of civil war in your city. Have you seen a death when it started?" Neo shook her head. "It's our duty to find a reason of your behavior and fix it. Help us in that is your duty. Frankly, I think your behavior is normal for Mistral. It's a city of thieves and criminal. I'm not surprised that you one of them."

Second person said, "Read it carefully, man. She is mute because she ate a hot dust. That's the main reason why she is here. Look here. When Social Services were attracted to her, person named Gold Handed Jack said about her early abnormal behavior. He said that she did the chicken dance in the process of robbery." Neo set her teeth and rolled eyes. Man laughed, "I'm not surprised if it's a stupid joke. Okay, empty your pockets." Neo step forward but man cried, "Are you able to see the white line painted on the floor directly behind you?" Neo closed her eyes and step back. Then threw the pen on the table. The man said, "Pick that up and put it down properly." Neo had leaned forward, picked up the pen and put on the same place. Then she had leaned forward to put the bar of chocolate and realized that is not easy for her short stature. For the third time, she took all her stuff into her hands and put it on the table leaned only time. "Anything else in your pockets?" The man asked. Neo shook her head and the man put all stuff into the tube. "Right. Sight here for your valuable property." Neo signed the register. "Now over to the table and get undressed."

After she got undressed, Neo watched her padded white room. Then walked in the day room. The nurse introduced her with the others patients. "Meet our new little patient," she said. "It's Neo Politan. She was sent here by our colleagues from Mistral because she had burn her throat by hot ashes, what will be for her six glorious years, in our beautiful institute." Neo smiled them and the patients said, "Hello, Neo." The nurse left them.

"So... What will we do now?"

Another patient answered, "We're gonna to play crocodile game."

"Who will start?"

"Let's the new be first. It's very cool for her because she is mute. Sure she is professional."

Her word was "Bag". Neo made a show of carrying something upon her shoulders. One patient asked, "Why you look like carrying something heavy? Is it cart?" Another one said, "It's a loot". Neo showed something round and punched it few times. "Punching bag!" Then Neo put it upon her shoulders again and walked.

"She fought him and stole. It's a kidnapping!"

"It's just a bag." Neo recognized the voice. This was Roman Torchwick. Neo nodded and walked to him.

"Wait. You should to say another word," the patient said. Neo opened mouth but remembered a little problem. "Right. I'm sorry. We don't have a pen. Just sit down."

Neo stood next after Roman. He said, "It's really you?" Neo spread her arms wide and turned around. Roman said with passion in his voice, "I'm so..." then softly, "Sad to see you here. It's not right." Neo set next after him. "I see you are not upset about it. I know you want to know why I am here. This was fun story. I have hit the jackpot. I executed the plan I had planned in Mistral. And then, losers from casino asked if I'm cheater. I said "No" and they decided I was psychic. So I'm here. But I'm normal fellow and this will be clear soon. They can't hold me here forever."

"Why are you pretending like you are Roman Torchwick." One patient asked. "Your word is "Cane" or "Hat"? Show something else."

"His word is "Torch" or "Wick", I guess." Roman said.
