Laur was pulling into Ashton's driveway when she noticed him sitting on the porch. She put the car in park and got out.
"Hey Ash." She said, sitting down next to him.
"Hey Laur, what are you doing here?" He said, giving her a smile.
"I heard about Nia and your band stuff." She said, the sarcasm evident when mentioning his supposed band responsibilities.
"I can't go to Milan." He replied, not skirting around the reason she was there.
"Why not?" She asked.
"You wouldn't understand it." Ashton replied, getting up and walking into the house. Laur followed behind.
"I'm sure I wouldn't but you could still talk to me about it." She responded. Ashton stopped dead in his tracks and turned around to face her. He was visibly considering his options.
"Fine, let's go to the kitchen." He replied, walking towards the kitchen.
"Okay so what's going on?" She asked, as she sat down at the bar.
"You want anything to drink?" He asked, attempting to postpone the inevitable.
"Sit your ass down and tell me what's up." Laur grabbed Ashtons arm and forced him on the chair next to her. Ashton looked at the ceiling and let out a deep sigh.
"I think that going to Milan with Nia would be bad for our relationship. Like ending the relationship bad." He finally said. He looked over to Laur who had a confused expression on her face.
"It's like this okay. Nia and I just went through a rough patch, right?" Laur simply nodded at his statement and gestured for him to continue his reasoning.
"And we just started getting back on our feet and not walking on eggshells around each other. But if I were to go to Milan with her and hang there with all her model friends and her be working. We would erase all the hard work we put into the relationship." Ashton ended his rant and looked over to Laur, who looked even more confused than she was before his explanation.
"She gets jealous. Which isn't really a problem, because I get jealous. But putting more strain on our relationship after just solving it feels dumb." He said.
"That's completely understandable. How long is she gone for?" She replied.
"About two weeks." He answered. Laur nodded.
"Did you tell her about why you're not coming along?" Laur asked, before quickly retracting that statement. "Nevermind, you had 'band stuff'" She chuckled.
"Why are you really here?" Ashton replied, rolling his eyes at the girl.
"I was thinking that we could have a bonding day." She said with a bright smile.
"So you're not here because Mike upset you? Or Calum and Shay fought? Again?" He asked her, seeming slightly skeptical.
"No, I just wanted to spend time with you. I feel like you and I don't get to spend a lot of time together." She replied.
"Sounds like a good idea to me." Ashton replied, getting up. "Let's go to lunch and then maybe go record shopping."
"Are you asking me out on a date, Irwin?" Laur joked. Ashton made a gagging motion before answering, "You're gorgeous but you are like a baby sister to me." He threw an arm around her and messed up her hair.
"Thank God, things we're gonna be real awkward." She responded.
"How are you and Mike doing?" Ashton asked, as he took a sip of his drink.
