Prologue
"MOM!! NO!" I screamed.
But it was too late.
She was gone. Pulling out of the parking lot as fast as she could.
My future awaits me. I didn't want to be here.
But I regret nothing. My family deserves to suffer. At some point they'll miss me.
They WILL beg to have me back.
"Melanie Summer?" The old lady asked sternly, snapping me out of my thoughts.
I looked up at her. I could feel my eyes drilling into her because she was making it obvious that she was avoiding my gaze.
"That's me." My voice was dull.
Well when you're sent to boarding school, you're not exactly all rainbows and unicorns.
The place was designed like a school, of course. Only it looked more like a place you'd go to if you were going to...
Die.
"Why are you here?" The elderly witch asked.
"Why don't you ask my mom." I snapped.
"Well, it seems like you tried to-" she started.
"I know what I did. I regret nothing." I looked back down at my lap.
"Here's the deal. We have two sections for the students here. One section is for the students like you. The children who's parents send them here because of their actions and other problems. The second section is for the students who's parents send them here because the particular section is a higher class.
There seems to not be any room in the first section so today will be your lucky day and you'll have to stay your time in the second section. Room 1402." She handed me a uniform that looked to be my size.
Stupid shoes.
Stupid dress.
Stupid knee socks.
Stupid lady.
I grabbed the uniform from her ghostly hands and found my way to my room.
I knocked on the door. Just incase.
Nobody said anything from the inside, so I let myself in.
I noticed a boy. Sitting on the bed doing what I thought was his homework.
"S-Sorry... Wrong room." I shyly said.
Shy? I didn't know I had a 'shy' side.
"What room are you looking for?" He asked.
"1402." I answered.
"Well, this is 1402. What's your name, Love?" He smiled.
"M-Melanie... Melanie Summers." I replied.
"Good to know." He said.
I placed my bags down on the opposite bed to the left side of the room.
I walked over to the boy to see what he was working on.
It looked like a song.
"A song?" I asked.
He grabbed my wrist as I raised my arm up to point to the notes.
"Yes." He smiled up at me.
Mel. Get ahold of yourself.
You can't be scared. You're Melanie Summer! Somebody that DOES NOT. Get. Scared.
