6 - helping out

aether couldn't sleep. he kept thinking about what happened yesterday at the arcade with xiao. he kept tossing, turning, and jumping in his bed happily. lumine who was in her bedroom next door could hear him. she tossed a pillow over her head and covered her ears with it. "thats it." she had enough. she walked over to aethers bedroom and slammed open the door. "BE QUIET ALREADY!" lumine shouted out. aether quickly turned his head out of shock and apologized. "sorry sorry!" lumine rolled her eyes and walked back to her room. aether fell asleep quickly mostly because he was exhausted of the tossing and turning he had been doing. lumine also fell asleep peacefully when he had finished.

the next day they both got ready ready for school and ate their breakfast. as they were walking to the train station they heard a little girl crying. lumine rushed to comfort her with aether barely catching up. "are you okay?" lumine quickly asked. "whats your name and where are your parents?" the little girl stopped crying. *sniff sniff* "m-my name is paimon, i don't know where paimon's mommy went! t-t-two people tried to help paimon but paimon was scared and ran away on accident." lumine turned her head and looked at aether. "we should take her to the station, they would help her find her mom." she nodded. "cmon paimon, we're going to find your mom!" paimon wiped the tears off her face and held lumines hand. they walked over to the police station and left paimon there. as they were walking out of the police station they noticed a tall well built teenager who had their school uniform white hair and reddish tips followed by a another teenager whom also had their school uniform with green hair tied up in a high ponytail and a black mask. "wait, sir! let me explain what you just happened to see." she protested. "what? im listening." said the officer. she looked around frantically as she spotted the twins. "them! over there. they were bringing that kid to the police station." the officer gave her a questioning look and then walked over to the twins. "hey. you two, do you know why that kid was crying?" asked the officer. "she told us that she was lost and she described these two as the ones who were trying to help her." explained aether. "i see. so you weren't trying to kidnap her?" asked the officer. "no! not at all officer, i was just trying to help the little girl find her parents." said the taller teenager. the officer sighed. "alright then, just head back to school." the taller teenager jumped in happiness. "WOO! thanks shinobu, and you two." he said. "no problem." replied the twins. "oh, sorry i've forgotten to introduce myself. my name is kuki shinobu. and this is my...boss, friend, and mischief-maker, arataki itto." they smiled at the twins. "nice to meet you guys! im aether and this is my sister, lumine." shinobu smiled under her mask and looked at her watch. "we're gonna be late! it was nice meeting you guys, but we gotta head out now. goodbye!" they waved and started running. "we're gonna be late too! cmon aeth." they ran toward the school which wasn't so far from the police station. they started panting as they arrived at the school. they noticed the senior who was with tartaglia, the ginger on their first day of school. "oh, hello there. why aren't you two inside yet? it looks like it about to rain." said zhongli. "we..just got here!" said lumine panting. "i see. well, fix yourselves quickly." said zhongli before walking off. "lets go."
