Peyton's P.O.V.
Fuck.
I rolled out of bed and let my feet hit the cold floor as I shivered on my way to my luggage. I thought that LA was supposed to be warm all the time, but I guess that was just a lie told by Americans because they didn't know what real warm weather was like, also known as Australian weather.
I threw shirts on the floor, not caring that I would have to clean them up in the morning or that I would probably slip on one when I woke up; I just wanted to go to bed and I couldn't do that if I was freezing cold.
Tank top. Nope.
Shorts. Nope.
Sports Bra. Nope.
I didn't expect there to be cold weather. In other words, I wasn't prepared for this kind of weather and I was probably going to die from hypothermia tonight. I'm not even exaggerating- ok maybe I am a little bit.
I dug my hand into the bottom of my suitcase and felt something that I forgot I had in my possession- Calum's sweater. I sighed at the piece of fabric like it was an old friend who I hadn't seen in months. I hugged it into my chest and it still gave off the same warmth that it always had- the same warmth that Calum used to give me ya know, when we still were talking.
I took off my t-shirt, threw on a sports bra-because even though I hated sleeping with any type of bra on- I wanted something on under this shirt because it was massive. I crawled into it and let the sleeves hang over my hands and the bottom cover the shorts that I was wearing.
If Calum was here, he would make some stupid comment about how he can't believe that he lost the bet to me at the beginning of the tour and he probably would challenge me to something else just so he could try to win this stupid, old raggedy sweater back from me (which would never happen).
After all these months and all the washes that it had been through, it still smelled like Calum.
Fuck, again.
I missed him.
I checked the clock across the room and it read 2:12am.
I wonder if Calum was awake. I mean I had to talk to him at some point, why not at 2:12am on a Thursday morning?
Now, it wasn't the most logical thinking, but I'm sure that Calum would be asleep and at least I would've made an effort to talk to him, right?
Then maybe I could be more content.
I went to open my bedroom door and used my phone as a flashlight to make sure that the boys didn't leave any miscellaneous items of clothing on the ground, which happened more frequently than you'd expect. I walked down the hall towards Calum's room. A light was shining under it which told me that either Calum had fallen asleep with the light on or he was awake.
"Wake me up now, and tell me this is all a bad dream. All the songs that I wrote-." I heard him sing and I knew he was awake.
Fuck.
I got nervous and I felt my phone slip through my fingers and hit the floor, making a noise that was loud, but not loud enough to cause anyone any worry or wake anyone up.
I bent down to pick it up and as I reached the ground, the source of light became greater and I saw Calum towering above me, looking down at me with this look on his face. I couldn't tell if it was sadness, exhaustion, or excitement, but I would say that it was a combination of the few.
"Peyton?"
"Hi Calum."
It was awkward. If you didn't know us, you would've thought that we were meeting for the first time.
