I turn back to see Dustin and his friends waiting.

"- Dustin, hi
- What are doing here ?
- First come give me a hug, little brother

I open my arms and after hesitating he hug me. He pull back and ask me again :

" - So what are you doing here ? I thought you were in California, living your best life
- Well things did not went as planned and I needed change
- Oh so you broke with, what was is name ? Eddie ?
- Yep that's me, say one of his friends
- No not you
- It was edrick, yeah I broke up with him but that doesn't matter anymore. That was only a little reason of my decision.
- Oh, so what else ?
- What about we discuss that later, Dustin ? I don't want to get you and your friends late
- Don't worry, our next class is at eleven

- So you're Eddie but is that mike I'm seeing here ?
- Yep, Nina, how are you ?
- I'm fine, I mean I'm doing my dream job and I'm back I my lovely childhood hometown. How could I be unhappy ?

- Okay I did but that was when I was young. Now I find it perfect. Only assholes never change their minds and am I an asshole Dustin ?

I gently hit his arm :

- Ugh, I got a reunion at 5:30 with all the teachers and the principal but that should be done within an hour.
- Cool do you wanna hang out with us after that
-Man, don't you think she has other plans, plus it's gonna be boring for her, we're going to play DND, so it's fine if you don't want to come, says Eddie looking at me
- Oh yeah it's not like I'm the one who taught this kid how to play that game, I respond him,
And I was thinking going to socialize but since the mall got shut down last year, which I still don't get why, I have no place in mind. So I guess I'll have to stick with you guys.
- You could go to the arcade ? suggests Eddie
- Hum, I was thinking about meeting people around my ages not yours.

"- Okay, personally I'm in, been a long time since I our last game sis
- I'm in too, says mike

We all turn to Eddie that doesn't know what to do

"- Come on man, she's really funny

- Plus she's 22 so she can legally bring alcohol
- Okay, I don't like the legally but if that was you guys need I guess I can bring a few beers or things like that as long as no one get drunk.

I hand my hand to Eddie and he takes it :
- Okay I'm in, he finally says

While mike and Dustin cheer up, we stay hand in hand with our eyes lock.

Okay, you need to stop this

I take away my hand but I steel feel his gaze on me. I say :
"-Appreciate, Dustin how long a party usually lasts so I can know when to meet your sweet mother.
- When I come home she's always asleep, so...
- Okay got it, I'll pass by her before the meeting so I won't stay long.
- I'll tell her that !
- And last, how do I meet you guys ? Who host the party ? Is it still in mike's basement ? Pls tell me it is
- You're pretty lucky, tonight my parents aren't home so I'll be the host, says mike proudly
- Cool, so I'll see Nancy ?
- Hum, not sure, I mean I never know what she's up to
- Great, not that I want to leave y'all but I think it's time because if I don't have my coffee in the next minutes, I'm gonna kill a student and that would be uncool.

And I'm finally alone
That was interesting . This Eddie is I interesting. And I got a plan for tonight. I made a good choice to come back, I feel like it's gonna ten times better than California.
