"Come on Melany, we are going to be late for school!"
"I'm coming!" I put my backpack over my shoulder and closed my bedroom door behind me.
"Bye Mom, Hanna and I are taking the bus to school."
"Are you sure you don't want me to drive you there?" She hugged me and kissed me on the cheek.
"Look after each other, and don't get into any trouble."
Hanna took my hand and closed the front door after me. We made it to the bus stop just in time.
"I don't understand why are we going to this stupid school?"
"You know exactly why!" Hanna snapped.
Everyone on the bus stopped what they were doing and looked up at us.
"What are you looking at?"
The bus stopped outside a pale green building. Foxwood High School wasn't much different from our old school except for Foxwood had a fountain and double doors.
Three girls walked up to us and stopped right in front of us blocking our way.
"Excuse me," Hanna said.
"What's your name?" She said. She had on a neon pink jacket and her hand never strayed far from her silver purse. Her hair was blonde and she was wearing pink eyeshadow.
"We have to go," I said as we walked around them.
I opened the door to Foxwood and we followed two boys inside.
"I just want to be friends." The girl had caught up before we had even gotten to our lockers.
I opened my locker, I would have hit her in the face with the door if she hadn't walked around. She was barely an inch away from my face.
"My name is Rachel, there now will you answer the question?" She watched as we put our bags in our lockers. The other girls appeared to have gotten bored and gone to go hang out with the two boys we saw earlier.
"I'm Hanna Pradesh, this is my sister Melany."
"Oh, I remember you, you're the girls who got kicked out of Ingrid's school for Girls aren't you?"
"Stop following us," I said.
Rachel ignored me, "I'll take that as a yes, then."
We walked with Rachel to English class. We sat in the back row and tried to avoid making eye contact with the other students.
"Good Morning Class, today we are going to study Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet."
A boy with short black hair raised his hand.
"Yes, Alex."
"Ms. Azkanova, We already know enough about Mike and Nora."
"Yeah, why don't we talk about Alex and Zara for a change!" Rachel shouted, but no one laughed.
"Shut up Rachel," Alex said.
Suddenly, my phone went off, Unknown was written as the person's name.
I know your little secret Melany Pradesh. Meet me in the Science Room or you are next. I know your little secret Melany Pradesh. A new school and someone is already out to kill me.
"That's enough Mike, Melany you aren't allowed to have your phone out in class."
I put my phone in my jean pocket.
"What did it say?" Hanna whispered.
"It was nothing, just mom checking to see how we are doing," I lied.
If I told her the truth it would have meant risking the whole class finding out.
