Iman's head was faced towards the ground as she walks out of the arena.. "I swear I could've done it better.. If only I didn't trip that ONE time." She says, disappointed. "Don't say that, Iman! You did great!" Moon says to her friend as she pats her on the back, but Iman only sighs in response."I know. It's just that... I guess I'm just disappointed in myself is all.." Iman says.
Currently, the academy is running a test for each one of the young agents, where they'll have to go into the arena and try their best to get through every single challenge that was built for them. The problem is, when It was Iman's turn, she did very well in the first half, on the second, however, she accidentally tripped herself by stepping on her scarf and it made her lose the momentum she needed for her fight. She gets back up safely, but she's still pretty disappointed in herself for it.
"Moon, you are next." Agent Geetha said as she puts her hand on Moon's shoulder. It made Moon look at Iman in worry that she might disappoints Iman for not being there to comfort her. But Iman notices this and she smiles to Moon, then shakes her head as a signal to tell her, that it is okay..
Moon nodded to Iman meaning, she understands. After, she waves to Iman as she follows agent Geetha to the arena.
However, when Moon left, Iman's little frown came back. She lied about it being okay for Moon to leave. She doesn't want her to leave. Even though she knows that Moon will eventually have to go to her test, she still wishes that Moon stayed longer to listen to her problems...
Iman shakes her head "No! I'm okay! I don't need Moon to listen to my problems to be alright." After that, she walks away from the exit of the arena and to the waiting place, where all of the other young agents were waiting. "Iman!! You were awesome!!! Even though you did a little mistake, you still got up on your feet and fight! That was good!" Mika said while pats Iman on the back, and the other agents there agrees by saying so or nodding. Iman winches at the fact that Mika mentioned her 'Mistake'. Iman thought that at least, the other agents didn't see it.. The thought of them watching as Iman did that mistake, makes her feel worse than before.
After all that, Iman sits at an unoccupied seat and makes sure nobody else was sitting beside her. She rests and thinks about how she can do better or what she could do to never ever mess up like she did ever again. Iman then groans silently as she puts her hands up, hiding her face in frustration. "I wish I never did that.." she says to herself.
"Did what?" A familiar voice says. She immediately pulls her hands away and looks up, to find that the voice was coming from a person who was sitting across her, Chris. She thinks to herself, how could she have not seen that Chris was literally sitting Infront of her?!?
"Uh-Uhm t-the a-ccident.. Earlier.. At the arena" Iman stuttered and attempts to push herself away from the conversation as best as she could, out of embarrassment. Chris looks around for a second, maybe thinking. "Ohh you meant that time!!" Instead of trying to fight it, Iman sighs and just nodded to him. "I don't want to talk about, Chris." She said with a soft tone, facing away from Chris, as a sign she's not interested in the conversation anymore.
"You still did amazing though.." Iman heard Chris softly whispered. "Hm?" Iman hummed. Chris jumped at the sudden noise, probably not expecting for Iman to hear him.
"O-OH! Nothing-Nothing, it's nothing!!" He says as he flaps his hand up and down, as if he's trying to hide what he just said.
"Y-you really think I did great..?" Iman asks.
Chris stopped moving and blinks, in surprise. "I mean uhm, yeah.. I mean.. Everyone thinks you did, not just me!" Yes, but it meant a little lot from someone like Chris.
From months of training in M.A.T.A, she figured that Chris is a good person. But since he was friends with Jet and Rudy, he never really had a conversation or hang out with Iman so much. She doesn't mind it though. It's just that, they're pretty distant from each other. "But.. You really really think I did amazing?" Iman asks again, with stars in her eyes. The emotions she felt before passed and now she's amused. Iman knows that Chris is not a bad person, but hearing him says kind things about her, makes Iman feel happy.
Chris, in response, looked at Iman and said "I do!"
He then suddenly looked away again "I mean, the way that you move and fight looks so elegant and amazing! my silat could never compare." Chris said with a soft tone again, smiling, maybe a tint of blush in cheeks as well.
Iman didn't take her eyes off of Chris. She stares silently, not knowing what to say at first. But, she's grateful. She's happy. "That's really nice Chris, thank you.." She says and smiles warmly. "But no way, your silat is seriously better than my own moves!"
"Ehh--?! No no no, you're wrong, your moves are way way better!" Chris looks back at Iman with more amused expression. "Nope!" Iman said, crossing her arms and they both giggled.
"CHRIS!! YOU'RE GOING NEXT!!" They both stopped giggling as soon as they hear Jet yelled. "I should go and get ready. I'll see you later, Iman!" Chris then jumped from his seat and runs to the waiting room's exit.
From then on, Chris and Iman starts getting more and more comfortable with talking and getting to know more about each other. They became best friends. The both of them really got along well. Almost all of the young agents realized how close they've been to each other very recently, especially Mika.
When it's resting time, instead of just talking with Jet or Roza, he'd catch up with Iman and they would just talk about all that is happening; and instead of just talking with Moon or Khai, Iman would start a conversation with Chris. Chris does all of the talking, Iman likes to be quite most of the time and only talks when she finds the opportunity. They make it work. The mentors likes to think of them as 'Two peas in one pod' they may look different, act different, but they're both just the same when it comes to each other.
Iman wonders from time to time that if she hadn't made a mistake and slipped, would she be a really good friend to Chris? It makes Iman thinks for a little while, but in the end, she concludes that she doesn't want to know.
And maybe, the bad 'mistake' that Iman made, isn't such a bad mistake after all.
Maybe some mistakes, are not even mistakes. The end.
