"Knew you would return to me eventually Sackboy. What use am I referring to you may wonder? I'm glad you asked! You shall become something great, however, there are some conditions that you must abide by. The first one is simple, you must give your all to me; heart, soul, body, and mind. The second is a bit more complicated than that...you must dispose of Vex once and for all. He stands in your way to becoming what you were destined to be and he must be destroyed."

Pitch blackness obstructed vision in every direction, preventing a clearer picture of the owner of the voice. That soon changed, however, when footsteps could be heard. A figure seeming to be darker than its surroundings had made its way forward, a menacing smile exposing jagged teeth. Its piercing lime-green eyes illuminated the darkness, ones that would stare right through you to your very soul.

"Why do you hesitate?! Before you would have jumped at the prospect of ridding yourself of your enemy! With my power, you could accomplish so very much. Not only could you destroy Vex but you could even be a king in his place! You wouldn't have to worry about any more villains in his place; there would be tranquility, harmony, and peace for all. So what do you say?"

The shadowy being still had that devilish smile plastered on its face as it made its way forward with deliberate drawn-out steps. It was only a few feet away from its target when it stretched out its hand, waiting for the handshake to seal the deal. Thinking it had won so easily, it had completely let down its guard, completely unprepared for what transpired next.

Simply wanting a way to escape from the troubles of the waking world, Sackboy had given in completely to the embrace of sleep. The familiar shadow however was constantly plaguing him with nightmares and empty promises that he had no avoidance from. He took in everything the figure had said. There would be no more enemies? No more pain or suffering? All because of him? But he would have to get rid of Vex! The very same who had kidnapped his friends and enslaved him and the very same who had almost cast the Imagasphere into total darkness. But still, the jester had taken him in and healed his wounds and had even treated him like his very own son. That had made up for any past wrongdoings. No! He wouldn't do it! He couldn't do it!

Shaking his head vigorously back and forth, Sackboy would never harm the one who had become his father figure. He may have been a Sackperson like all the others but he was still an outcast. The others had viewed him as an outcast, a freak simply because he was also the first one to be at the front lines against any adversary and who would rather go on adventures than do normal sack people things. Even though they had been enemies, Vex had treated him with respect, like an actual person even though he had harmed him during training. Slapping the hand away, the young sack had made his decision.

Eyes flaring with fury, the figure bowled him over, raising a clawed hand. The claws extended until they were practically a foot long. They plunged them into the defenseless child's chest, clawing him apart from the inside. The screams of agony echoed around the desolate atmosphere and continued one after the other.

Yelling pierced through the peaceful night, as Sackboy was flaring about. He was still gripped by the nightmare and couldn't wake up no matter how hard he tried. Sweat poured down the unfortunate knights head as it was wearing him out and he was completely destroying the bed.

Startled, the blue and red patch worked jester Vex rapidly sat up in bed, frantically looking around for the intermediate threat. Realizing there was no danger, he felt something bump against him rapidly growing, multiple times. Looking down, he saw Sackboy completely entrapped in what appeared to be a nightmare. Chuckling despite himself, Vex knew this scene all too well. Being the king of nightmares, they were nothing but his plaything and where he originally hailed from and knew exactly what needed to be done.
