Part 1 - invitation

"oh honey, you don't need to do my dirty work. I didn't invite you to be my cleaning lady"
"It's okay grandma! Besides you're getting way to old for this stuff" I giggled.
Grandma slouched back into her ripped up recliner chair.
"So, what has been going on in your life my darling?"  "Any boyfriend or new interests?"
She took a sip of her gross coffee.
"Pfft no boyfriends around mum that's for sure. However I have been watching some YouTube lately"
"YouTube?"
"Youtube is a app where you can watch and upload all kinds of videos"
I had to tell this to her this about 4 times a week.
"Oo what have you been watching on this YouTube app?"
She was very curious
"Well.. I have been watching these two paranormal investigators"
Grandma put her coffee down and just looked at me confused af.
"They look for ghosts grandma"
"Well that sounds spooky does it not!"
"Actually, I have been thinking of taking it up as a hobby myself"
I was kinda sceptic on her thoughts and didn't know what would come out of her mouth.
"mmm"
She sighed
"I knew this would happen one day"
She glanced at me leaning back on her chair.
"Pardon?"
I was confused
"Your mothers brother was an expert in paranormal stuff"
"Really?"
"Yes darling, when you was little your uncle used to tell you all kinds of scary stories he had experienced but your mother stopped you from seeing him after she found out"
Grandma was telling me so many secrets mum would be furious.
"So.. if i were to tell mum I was interested she would throw a fit"
"Maybe"
"Well i have to leave now gram gram. Oh and thank you so much for telling me everything!"
"Don't tell your mother"

I was walking down the streets around 3pm with my AirPods in listing to Sam and Colby.
Only a few left turns from grandmas house until mine.

"Hey mum"
"I'm in the kitchen cooking hun"
I walked into the kitchen.
"Beef burgers?"
"Mhm things are getting expensive"
"Mum guess what"
"What"
She sighed
"This holidays I wanna go somewhere abandoned to explore with dad"
"Why?"
"Because I have been watching YouTube and you know how I have been watching Sam and Colby right?"
"Yes"
"I want to get YouTube famous"
"Right"
I knew she wouldn't take me so I just left and went to look for dad.
He was mowing the lawn so I waited.
"Yo wassup?"
"Hey dad? This holidays wanna take me to somewhere abandoned?"
"Sure"
Omg I can't believe he said yes

After dad finished and went to shower he seen me sitting on the lounge in the lounge room.
"What the fuck are you watching?"
"Sam and Colby's new video"
"What is it about?"
"They're investigating at the conjuring house alone in the basement"
"Fair enough"
He plopped in the lounge with a beer in his hand next to me.
"That rinks btw"
He whiffed it in my face as a joke.

We talked the whole time about Sam and Colby and I was explaining to him about them.
It came to the end of the video and Sam and Colby are running a competition.
"Whoever joins the Xplr Club gets to go on a investigation with them"
"Dad can i pay $1 to join it's my dream"
"Yeah that would be pretty sick aye"
"Thanks"
I went into my room and waited hours for a reply.
I ended up waiting 3 hours watching snc and still nothing.

The next morning was dull and the sky was cloudy.
I immediately checked my phone and seen a notification from YouTube.
"Omg it can't be"
I walked out of my room to see if anyone was awake.
"DAD LOOK I GOT CHOSEN"
I shoved my phone close to his face with excitement. He took my phone from me and out on his glasses.
"So when are you going?"
"It says to meet at the airport at 5am Saturday the 7th of June"  "dad that's tomorrow"

Mum and dad had a chat about if I was ready to travel with two grown male adults alone.
"Mum I'm going, I'm 17!"

It becomes evening and I'm all packed for 3 days of craziness.
Saturday's morning awaits.
