The rain drops pattering off your roof as the rain pours down outside. Lightening and thunder crack as the storm continues to rage. You cuddled up to your partner in front of the fire, both of you heavily pregnant with bellies that are huge and round. Your partner is due any day and you are due in a couple weeks. The rain pouring down outside, as you both lay in front of the fire together. Your hand on your partners stomach as you snuggle in close to her. Feeling the baby move inside her stomach, you look lovingly into your partners eyes "do you know how beautiful you are baby? I love you so much."
Your partner smiles back "you tell me everyday and I love you to."
Your partner lean into kiss you, as she kisses you everything goes dark except for the light of the fire. You look at your partner "oh looks like the power went out on us." She nods as she rubs her belly with a slight look of discomfort on her face.
"Are you ok?" You ask.
"Yes, I am fine just the normal pains of pregnancy.....you know how it goes" she says with a bit of a giggle.
You rub your belly and smile "yes I know very well, but they will both be here before you know it."
She nods "mhmm." You curl back up beside your partner wrapping your arms and legs around her to snuggle with her.
After about an hour or so the fire begins to die down and you can feel your partner start to shiver. You look over at her, "are you cold my love?"
"Just a little" she replys.
"I will put some more logs on the fire" you get up slowly grabbing some logs off of the log pile to put on the fire. As you do you feel some cramping in your belly but pay no attention to it. You throw some logs on the fire as your partner gets up to stretch her legs. As she gets up her knees buckle beneath her
"aaahhhhhh" she shouts as she hunches over gripping the couch in front of her. You hear your partner scream and rush over to her as quick as you can.
"Baby, what is it......whats wrong?" She looks at you
"nothing it was just a random pain it caught me off guard....thats all" all of a sudden you both hear a splash on the couch underneath her. You both gasp as you both look down seeing a huge wet spot on the couch between her legs.
"Oh god" she says in a shaky voice "I think my water has just broken...."
you hold her close trying to calm her. "Its ok baby, its gonna be ok"
You pull back slightly "I will go get the car." You get up and get dressed as fast as you can and open the front door. As you open the door the rain pours in pounding at your face. You are unable to see even a couple feet in front of you. You shut the door and walk back to your partner. "There is no way we are gonna be able to drive anywhere in this." You pick up the phone trying to get a signal but there is no signal. "Fuck the towers must be down, I cant get any reception..."
Your partner looks over at you rubbing her belly. "Its ok baby, calm down we still have plenty of time for the weather to lighten up before the baby comes."
"Yes I guess you are right, I am sorry about panicing. How are you feeling?"
She looks at you, "im ok, but i need you to stay calm to. Its not good for me, you, or either of the babies to panic" She places her hand on your tummy and rubs it.
You giggle as you feel the baby shift inside your belly. "I can't wait to meet both of them" I say with a smile on my face.
Your partners face lights up as she says "neither can I." Suddenly the expression on her face starts to shift.
