Does your skin zip up like a sweater?
Dressed like a good boy, you're so clever
In your rose colored glasses
Tongue sweet like molasses
Aren't you tired of always playing the part
Breaking my heart
Right from the start

Your jacket clung to your body as the cold wind threw salt in your wounds. You didn't want to be here, that's what you told yourself. The jitters you got from realising who's door step you were at just making it feel even colder.

You knocked twice, that's all you had to do before your ex-boyfriend opened the door with a beaming, warm smile contrasting the weather. The warmth you felt looking at that familiar smile rivalled the sick feeling were getting as a warning sign.

"Oh? Y/N...? What brings you here?" He asked leaning on the door frame with his smile getting a little more smug.

"I...I went on a date today." You said breathing heavy from the fear you felt as well as the cold. "And he s...stood me up." You grimaced knowing what would happen. Like it always did, you get hurt, your friends help you, but it's never enough.

You always go running back.

To him.

"Funny, I...I don't quite remember ever doing that to you." He said running his warm thumb along your cold cheek making your breath hitch. "I always showed up early if I wasn't the one picking you up." He gloated booping your nose.

"I know."

"No you don't." You looked up at him jaw falling as he gave you a dark smile cradling your jaw in his palm gently as he brought his face closer to yours. "If you knew then you wouldn't run from me, you think I like seeing you be treated like less than you are? You think it's nice seeing a woman like you being chased but unworthy leeches? I hate it. Yet, you run from me." He whispered placing his hand on your cheek making you unconsciously nestle your cold face into his warm palm causing him to smirk. Your lip quivered as you nodded looking down as he kissed your forehead. "Go have a shower I'll sort out your clothes for you." He sighed in defeat as you took of your shoes walking in as your wet feet patted across the floor making him chuckle.

You got into the shower peeling off your wet clothes and leaving them in a bucket before getting into the shower that made you grateful when the warm water hit your icy skin. Maybe he wasn't so bad.

You got out of the steaming shower and walked into the room seeing a warm pair of clothes laid out for you. It was even warmed which you knew he did. He always spoilt you.

You were snuggling into the warm clothes when you walked out of the room seeing him bringing you a bowl of hot soup and garlic bread.

"Here have some so you don't get a cold." He said leading you to the couch, tucking you in the blanket before handing you the bowl.

"Thank you." You said softly as he smiled. Your friends knew what you had with him was unhealthy but you never listened it was things like this that made it so easy to fall back into his arms every single time. You even gave up drinking because of it, the alcohol only weakened your inhibitions guaranteeing that you went running back.

He took a seat next to you making you feel at ease with his body heat making you unconsciously lean towards him. He wrapped an arm around you making you lean on him completely as he put the tv on as you ate. His pretty blue eyes aimed directly at your face as you took a bite enjoying the warmth and taste of the soup.

"You like it?" He asked you as you innocently smiled nodding happily. He felt his heart beat faster like it always did around you. You were his cute love. And in time you would know very well that it was pointless to run. Running from the inevitable? That's a foolish mistake.

He accepted it a long time ago.

You were his.
