Confessions and Cuddling

"Shay, we need to talk." Cal said, grabbing her hand, as she and Ash entered the room.

"Um okay?" She replied as they walked into her room. Shay sat on the bed as Cal paced back and forth in front of her.

"Everything okay Cal?" She asked.

"Why are you mad at me?" He questioned, stopping dead in his tracks to face her.

"I'm not." She replied.

"Then why do you keep shutting me out? If I did something wrong I want you to tell me so that I can fix it." He said exasperatedly.

"Cal, you didn't do anything wrong." She answered.

"Then why have you been avoiding me? Do you not want to be with me anymore?" He said slightly, raising his voice.

"Are you insane? Of course I still want to be with you. Where is all of this coming from?" She replied, furrowing her brows.

"Don't act stupid. You have been avoiding me for days. Everytime i come close to you or put my arm around you, you shrug me off. Not to mention you attacking me just now with Laur. What did you expect me to think?" He practically yelled. He wasn't sure what was worse, her denying her behavior or them fighting again.

"I'm sorry, Cal. I promise I can explain it." Some of the fight left Calum as he sat down next to her.

"Then please do. Cause I'm going crazy here trying to fix this." He started saying, looking over to her. "I can't lose this." He motioned between the two of them. A soft smile appeared on Shay's face as she leaned in and kissed him softly.

"You won't." She whispered. Looking away from him again. She was trying to gather courage to tell him the truth. But even after Ashtons pep talk she was still scared.

"Can you please just talk to me? I thought that was what we were gonna do, talk to each other about how we're feeling." As he said this he put his hand on her cheek and turned her face towards his again. She took a deep breath before finally speaking.

"I'm in love with you." She said looking into his eyes. "And it scares the living shit out of me Cal."

"Why? Isn't it obvious that I love you?" He grabbed her hand and pulled it into his lap.

She shook her head, looking at their hands joined together with a small smile. "I have never cared for someone like I do for you." She admitted meeting his gaze again. A smile bloomed on his face.

"You think I have? You are the first thing I think about when waking up. The only person that I look forward to seeing or speaking to. You ignoring me this past week was killing me." He strengthened his hold on her hand, as if it would make her stay with him.

"I hated not being able to talk to you." She whispered. Calum put his arm around her and pulled her close. The two fell into a comfortable silence, simply enjoying each other's presence.

"I love you." He whispered softly.

"I love you." She replied in the same hushed tone, looking up at him. He gave her a soft kiss before lying down on the bed, pulling her with him.

"Can we just stay here for the rest of the day?" He whispered, pulling her even closer to him.

"There's nowhere I'd rather be." She replied, burrowing her face in his chest.
