Millie opened her eyes and took a quick glance out the big window. It was a fine day, sunny after rain, and the air was unusually pure.
The girl turned her head to watch the boy beside her.
She rubbed her eyes and a smile broke across her face.
"Mills... Go to sleep..." He muttered, eyes still closed.
She traced her finger along his jaw and bit her lip.
"You go to sleep, but i can't..." her voice came out low, almost like a whisper.
Finn gently turned her around and took her into his arms.
His eyes blinket and opened, slowly focusing on her face.
A deep breath escaped his mouth and she giggled at his actions.
His eyes closed and he was soon fast asleep again.
It was much easier to sleep with his protective arm around her waist.
Minutes passed by and Millie played with his fingers.
"I'll be downstairs." She whispered almost inaudibly, glancing up at him from under her brows.
Turning, she put her arms around his neck and traced her fingers along his forehead.
She kissed his lips softly and rolled away from
him.(...)
In the kitchen she removed two mugs from the holder and reached for the coffee pot.
Several minutes later, Finn's footsteps sounded on the wooden stairs.
"Sit down and I'll pour you some coffee." She said over her shoulder.
"Thanks!" He answered, leaning forward in his chair.
Millie poured coffee into the mugs and sat down on the table.
He took a sip, watching her over the rim of the cup with and amused expression.
"What?" She giggled, putting the hot beverage down.
"You're just so beautiful... Damn."
He smiled and leaned back.
Millie rolled her eyes, taking his hand in hers.
"Yeah, you're a lucky guy." She muttered, as his fingers laced hers.
"I know... You're too good for me." He said with a sigh, running his finger through his dark curls.
"I can't believe stranger things brought us together..." Millie giggled, taking a sip of her strong coffee that she loved.
"Right! We were so young at the time." Finn said, looking into her brown eyes.
She smiled and leaned back in her chair.
"Remember when we made out behind that house..." Millie started, "...And Noah came to tell us that we had to get back?" Finn continued, the biggest smile she'd seen yet.
A small laugh escaped Millie's mouth, thinking about the stupid memory.
...
"This is nice." Finn told the shorter girl and smiled down at her.His hand gently pressed on her waist, drawing her closer as he leaned against the wall.
They were solid, concrete and windowless.
