Fallen Tree Friends: Malware

A New World?

The city...It is a dark and empty place. The buildings look modern yet destroyed. Is it the virus's fault? It could be, but everything is unknown to the heroes. However, they are aware of the monsters that might be there, those who were once their mutuals.
Flippy and Splendid arrive at the city, although they don't recognise it. After looking around them, they move on slowly and witness a group of people standing in the city's centre.
"Isn't this city destroyed? Why would there still be people left here?" Splendid wonders.
"I don't exactly know...but from what I can see is that they are talking about something. Maybe we should get a little closer without being spotted," Flippy thinks about it for a second.
"Are you mad? What if they spot us?"

"Don't you worry, we can take on them, can't we?" Flippy shrugs and smiles.
"Why did I feel like he would say that-?" Splendid says to his mind.

They are on the way trying to sneak up on the people standing there. They go from building to building, but unfortunately, when they arrive, the group walks away.
Splendid stops Flippy from catching their attention.
"Just don't do it Flippy, we don't want to cause problems and chaos now."
"I love chaos, it's fun! But whatever you say," Flippy says in a more angry tone.

After a while, Flippy and Splendid walk around the city looking for clues and pieces of this Fallen Land.
Suddenly, they hear a voice coming from somewhere, it sounds kinda robotic.
Both of them look up and saw a small robot coming from the sky that reminds them of a television.
"Welcome, inmates, to Fallen Tree Land," the robot says.
"This sure has become a prison," Splendid answers as he chuckles.
"Can you tell us a little more about this place, robot from the future?" Flippy wonders.
"Fallen Tree Land, once a happy place and now completely ruined and conquered by the only Malware. The land is ruled and destroyed by its new owners, those who are not from this Land."
"Malware? And 'new owners'? Who are they?" Flippy questions as he looks at the robot.
"Questions I cannot answer yet. You have to ask them by yourselves."
"Now it is my time to go, we may or may not see again." The bot says as it leaves the area.
"That was weird. Why was there suddenly a bot and why didn't it tell us about 'the owners'?" Splendid wonders in confusion.
"I have no idea either, but I guess we have to keep looking for that solution and restore this Land," Flippy says in confidence.
"You really can be sassy and determined at the same time. That's impressive," Splendid mentions.
"Who says I am sassy? Tsk...sometimes I don't like you." Flippy says as he crosses his arms.
"See what I mean?" Splendid chuckles as he looks at Flippy.
"Whatever," Flippy says, "let's concentrate on our mission."
"Come on, you just don't want to admit it, do you?" Splendid continues to mock.
"You will know once I plunged this knife into your heart," Flippy says angrily. 
"Now then, the mission," Flippy announces once more.

A few hours passed, and the so-called heroes keep looking for clues or answers to this world.
"Is time and space even a thing here anymore?"  Splendid speculates about.
"I am not quite sure about that since it is night all the time here." Flippy assumes this because it had been quite a while and the day-night cycle hasn't changed.
"And we even saw a robot, so I don't know if we are from the present or future."
"I agree with that. I don't exactly know what is going on," Flippy states.
"I don't understand why this Land had to become like this. Is it fate? A coincidence? All of our mutuals are gone. They're corrupted by this deadly Malware."
"I am clueless as well," Flippy answers to Splendid,  "I don't get why we weren't that affected by the corruption. Surely our looks have changed but not much happened."
"Indeed. But sometimes a few areas of my body feel...funny. I don't know what it is," Splendid worries.
"Yes, me too," Flippy says, "Perhaps we will soon find it out. We have to continue looking."
"Right."
