Welcome To The Facility, Nadine Franklin [WIP]

Chapter 1

As it would turn out, Mr. Bruner had actually taken Nadine's "I'm going to kill myself" spiel quite seriously, because a week after everything went down, she found herself being committed to a behavioral help facility run by a very polite doctor who looked and sounded eerily like her own mother.

"Your teacher who committed you here said you're diagnosed with major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder?" Dr. Rose asked, getting a small nod out of the teenager. "Okay... And he said you mentioned wanting to kill yourself?"

"I was going through a lot" Nadine defended. "It was sort of a hair-trigger thing to say cause I was, like, really panicked over this graphic message I'd accidentally sent to this guy I had a crush on..." she explained, avoiding the doctor's gaze and fidgeting with her hands. "About how I wanted him to... Fuck me"

"Okay" Dr. Rose replied patiently. "Well, that's still, extreme, yes?" A nod. "Okay, well, you're only required to stay here for two weeks" she assured the teenager. "You're perfectly free to leave after that, assuming there aren't any incidents"

"Incidents?"

"Like, stealing my car and driving across the state to spite your parents"

"That's really specific"

"Yeah, well" Dr. Rose chuckled. "You work here for long enough, you experience a few things" she said before pulling out a map of the facility with a specific room circled out on it. "You're going to be roommates with a nice girl named Marie- I can't tell you much about her specifically but she has a lot of eating and body image issues, so please be kind to her" she requested, getting another nod in response. "She's only two years older than you, though, so you two should get along just fine"

"Is that all?"

"Yes" Dr. Rose confirmed with a kind smile. "Enjoy your stay"

"Yeah... I'll try"
