Goodbye England, Hello LAX!

I walk up to the flight attendant, passport and boarding pass in hand. I smile at the female flight attendant. "Good Afternoon, boarding pass please," she says with a smile, I hand her my boarding pass, she takes it and smiles, "please make your way to First Class, your seat is 5a, have a great flight," she smiles at me as I walk away. I stare at my ticket and make my way to my seat. I'm so grateful that my mum offered to pay for my flights, little did I know they were secretly buying first class for me! I found out the week before my flight. When I found out I practically screamed, almost strangling my parents in the process by hugging them.

I get to my seat and smile, I place my travel bag inside the bed-sized room and sit down. I smile and stare outside the window. I pull my phone out of my bag and drop my mum a quick message 'On the plane, will message you when I'm in LAX!' I press send and put my phone on Airplane Mode. I get comfortable on my seat, pull out my AirPods and book. I select my playlist called 'LAX <3' I open my book 'To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han' and smile.

Before I know it, we are up in the air, my book is back in my bag and I'm staring out of the windows, with the never ending sight of white, fluffy clouds, the golden sun and the feeling of calm.

About 2 hours into the flight, a flight attends comes to my seat with a menu, with my First Class ticket I could order whatever I liked whenever I wanted to... which to me, sounds very fancy... which I am NOT, one bit. I smiled down at the menu in awe at the selection of dishes.

Loads of people I know hype up the calamari, I ordered that first, lets just say, NEVER again! I practically downed a glass of water before my next course came... I ordered a very good-looking chicken caesar salad and next a chocolate tart. May I just say ALL of it... well minus the calamari, was AMAZING!!

I get back to reading my book and listening to music after my food is tidied away by the air hostesses. I can't even begin to explain how relaxed I feel, a fresh new start in LAX is only a couple of hours away! I close my book and walk down to the aeroplanes toilets. On my way to the toilet I catch a glimpse of a familiar face. It's him, you know, the cute guy I saw when doing check-in. Cuter up close to be honest. He's sat with his friends in the First Class area, a couple of rows away from me. One of his freinds catch me looking at him and gives him a nudge. He turns around and looks at me. I smile nervously and walk off.

While I'm walking away I hear someone say, "Hey, wait." I turn around to see the cute guy, he has a noticeable American accent, probably visiting England and flying back home. Brilliant. I see his friends peering over the seats and giggling, whispering to one another. "I like your hype men," he turns around to see his friends watching and laughs. "Yeah, they are very supportive," he smiles. Damn. He's so cute. I can't. "So, what's up," I say to him. WAIT. Did I really just say that to him... WHAT'S UP?! I hate myself. "I thought I'd say hi, I saw you in the airport and didn't get chance to speak to you," he smiles again at me. "Oh well, hi," I say, giggling. "I'm Harry, nice to meet you," he puts his hand out. "I'm Olivia," I say, I take his hand, he firmly shakes it, lingering and staring at my hand before moving it away. I smile nervously, "pretty name for a pretty girl," he says grinning, I blush as he says that. WOW. This guy is cute and smooth. I can't. "Thanks," I respond with, "well I need to head off to the toilet ahah," I giggle. "Ok, before you go can I get your number," he says confidently. "Sure," I smile, he hands his phone over to me and I type in my name and number. "There you go, I'll see you soon," I smile at him, blushing a little. "See you soon, Olivia," he says with a smile, I smile back and turn around and walk away.

Oh. My. Goodness. Did that really just happen? THAT WAS PRACTICALLY A MOVIE MOMENT!!! I scream in my head. I walk into the bathroom and stare into the mirror, my face is slightly pink from blushing. My cheeks hurt slightly from smiling. I smile at myself. If boys like that come to LAX from England then this should be fun.

But he felt different, genuine, unlike any other boy I have met so far. I'm 21. I've had my fair share of relationships lasting from 4 months to 4 years. My most recent being the 4 years. In total I have dated 4 guys. 1 of them toxic, the others just weren't right. But you never know. Anything can happen when you're in LA.

Throughout the rest of the flight, I spend my time reading, listening to music, watching films and sleeping. And before I know it an announcement comes through the aeroplane speakers.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, we will shortly be landing at LAX Airport in about 30 minutes, please make sure you're in your seats, tables are away and your seatbelts are fastened. The seatbelt sign will be coming on in around 10 minutes. The weather in LA is around 23 degrees celcius, it is mainly sunny with a few spots of cloud. Thank you very much for flying with American Airlines, I hope you all enjoyed your flight."

I smile. Not long now.
