A few weeks had passed since Y/N had seen Eddie turn up with his new girlfriend at Family Video where Y/N worked with Robin and Steve. Y/N had been coping fine since the encounter with her ex boyfriend, she still got the odd dirty look from Eddie's current girlfriend whenever they would pass each other leaving school but it made no difference to Y/N, she was happy on her own with her friends.
One particular night Y/N had been invited to a party by one of her friends on the basket ball team which she accepted, she took Steve and Robin with her and said that she would drive the three of them to the party, mainly because Steve was always the designated driver and never got a chance to have lots of drinks purely because he would have to be giving his friends lifts home.
"So Eddie is going to be there with Harriet." Robin told Y/N while she was driving in the car "Which is surprising really because he never went to parties when you were with him." Robin continued
"Unless he's changed in the time that we have broken up and he's got with her I would imagine she forced him to come along, he doesn't like parties especially ones thrown by the basket ball team." Y/N explained
"I think he's only with her to make you jealous." Robin stated
"Yeah it does all sound too convenient Y/N." Steve said "He's definitely not over you." Steve mentioned and Robin agreed
"Yeah well two can play at that game." Y/N huffed as she pulled her car up against the curb and turned the engine off.
"Y/N please tell me you're not playing the game." Robin turned to Y/N in the car
"I am and I know just the right person to play it with." Y/N smirked as she looked behind her seat and looked at Steve who looked confused
"What?" Steve asked
"Let's play a love game." Y/N said
"A love game?" Steve asked
"Do you want love? Are you in the game?" Y/N teased
"Y/N seriously don't do this it's just going to end in tears." Robin warned her best friend.
"Absolutely not Y/N." Steve huffed "Don't get me involved in your stupid games just to try and piss off your ex boyfriend." Steve said seriously but all Y/N had to do was smirk flirtatiously at Steve and she knew he would agree, she could do it with anyone and get anything that she wanted in that moment of time,
"All you need to do is be a little all over me just be over affectionate with me and the odd kiss when we're inside." Y/N told Steve who looked at Robin for an answer
"Don't look at me I know this is going to end horribly." Robin said seriously
"Let's do it." Steve agreed and Y/N smiled as Robin rolled her eyes, the trio then got out of the car and walked up towards the house— Robin walked in first and then Y/N followed behind and Steve rested his hand on the small of her back as she walked in, Y/N then took his hand away and held it in her own as they all walked into the kitchen.
"Wow Harrington you've bagged Y/N!" A friend of Steve's cheered which got peoples attention
"Yeah I know finally." Steve agreed as he kissed Y/N's cheek, she then looked in the corner of her eye and saw Eddie staring her down in jealousy so she knew her plan was working. As the night progressed Steve and Y/N were both getting way too familiar with each other but the pair were finding it fun and completely harmless. "He's going upstairs now is your chance." Steve whispered to Y/N and when she was told this she looked over her shoulder and saw Eddie heading upstairs so she smiled at Steve and followed her ex upstairs.
"Do you love her?" Y/N straight out and asked Eddie before he could go to the bathroom
"What?" Eddie asked sharply
"I said do you love her?" Y/N repeated
"Do you love Steve?" Eddie returned
"You know I don't." Y/N said
"I've seen you with him all night Y/N you have been all over each other."
"We're playing the game." Y/N admitted,
"The game?— oh for fuck sake Y/N! You're playing the game to get my attention." Eddie sighed
"Has it work?" Y/N asked curiosity
"You know full well it has otherwise I wouldn't have left the room to come upstairs. You can't do this Y/N you were the one who broke up with me."
"Because you weren't treating me right but I've seen how you are with Harriet and I miss that. I miss being with you." Y/N admitted as she stepped closer to Eddie and she started to play with the rings on his fingers. "You never answered my question."
"What?"
"Do you love her? Tell me that you do and I will leave you alone, I will call the game off with Steve and I'll leave." Y/N said to Eddie who was trying so hard not to give into Y/N playing with the rings on his fingers
"I— don't." Eddie sighed and Y/N smiled just a little bit.
"Then what are we doing then?" Y/N whispered as she placed her arms around the back of Eddie's neck and kissed him softly and his hands instantly went to her waist while he kissed her back,
"Eddie?" Harriet said sadly as Y/N and Eddie pulled away from each other and saw the girl with tears in her eyes looking at the two exes
"I'm sorry Harriet but I love her." Eddie apologised and the girl ran away crying silently to herself. Eddie and Y/N made their way downstairs where Robin and Steve were stood waiting for Y/N to take them home
"I told you it would end in tears." Robin said to Y/N
"Yeah but they weren't my tears." Y/N said to her friends who just rolled their eyes as they all made their way to her car where she took Steve and Robin home, when Y/N was alone with Eddie she drove him back to her home.
"Did you have this planned to break Harriet and I up?" Eddie asked
"I could see that you weren't happy but no. It was never a plan I just saw an opportunity and went for it, but it's paid off." Y/N said to Eddie
"Is that what you think? You think it's paid off." Eddie says and Y/N gets out of her car with him following
"Well I don't see you back at her place." Y/N said casually as she and Eddie walked to the front door where they quietly entered the house so she didn't wake her parents— they went upstairs into her room and while Y/N got changed into some pyjamas Eddie smiled at Y/N "That's the first time you have smiled at me all night." Y/N said
"I didn't realise until tonight when I saw you with Steve how much I actually missed you and how much I wanted you back." Eddie said as he took Y/N's hand and lied down in her bed with her beside him.
