Do you ever wonder how your whole life can be changed by a word? Mine did. That word, was pretend.
Pretend.
That word just hurts me so much. The reason. There are more than one.
"Katie, just pretend to be this." they say. "Katie, why don't you pretend to be that."
Most people think that pretend is what you do when you play dress up or are imagining you are something else.
I used to think that.
Now... now... I can't pretend. I can't pretend that I like that word. I can't pretend to be someone else. I won't pretend.
