If I have to sing Part Of Your World one more time I'm going to lose my mind.I can't do it.
Miss Dean says the only way I'll ever sound like Ariel is if I practice it at least 10 times a day, we started rehearsals a week ago. Dont get me wrong I'm extremely grateful for this part especially because it'll help a lot in the future when applying to colleges and stuff like that, but who in their right mind wants to sing the same song that many times. It's annoying and quite frankly painful.
She wonders why she's still single at the ripe age of 42, but I can name a solid 43 answers. For starters her name is Karen, as if that's not a red flag on its own The only reason I'm still in theater is because of the friends I've made in it. With practice being 3 hours a day at least you get pretty close with the people your around.
I'd be lying if I said rehearsal wasn't the time of the day I look forward too. Theater is where I met my best friend, Avery. We met a theater camp in 4th grade and then became instant best friends, then we were reconnected when she came to Gray Hawks Middle School in 6th grade. Over the years she's lost her love for theater and is now just the stage crew but she's still required to be there the whole time we practice even if it means sitting on her phone. She's not happy there but sticks through it to hangout with everyone.
My other friends are Lily and Austyn who are funny enough, the next Flounder and Sebastian. We all get along great and have a blast together especially when it's time to practice hair and makeup for the shows. Austyns has a heck of a voice while Lily has one of the worst vocals I've ever heard, including my own sister.
After Miss Dean exits the theater to go to the bathroom for the third time we all take a seat in the audience and sigh. "You must sing again Bria!" Avery mocks Karen in a high pitched squeal. We all let out a laugh and Avery and I listen while Lily and Austyn discuss the party this Friday night at Josh's house, whoever that it.
Now my attention turns towards the beauty of a man that just walked through the door, Grant Moore. Beauty doesn't justify this man because he's more of a God. Grant Moore is one of the finest men I've ever laid my eyes on and I have the pleasure of being his love interest for the next 2 months of the musical. You've guessed it, he's Eric, and I've never been so happy. He's got an amazing voice and his acting skills are a solid 11/10. Every time he walks into a room I blush and I can feel my cheeks heat up.
He's got his own friends though, he only hangs out with the theater crowd right after shows if we all decide to get food or something like that. He posts on insta all the time with a group of around 6 people and there's always a couple of girls I don't recognize. Avery told me she heard one was his girlfriend was another school, but I refuse to believe that.
Grant started as my hallway crush junior year when he switched schools, the crushes you look for while you walk to your classes, stalk on Instagram, smile at while you pass. But as soon as he joined theater for the spring musical at the end of the year I fell head over heels. Now that Karen decided to be "so different and fun" we have the fall musical and spring play. Which would explain the singing mid October.
