I couldn't believe it, my parents got the best gift I ever could have asked for: Season Tickets to every home Vancouver Canucks game. They were my favorite team. I had seen almost every game since I was little, but I had never been to one in person. I knew this was the best birthday gift. EVER!
My birthday was October 3rd, right at the beginning of the NHL season. This couldn't have gone more perfectly. After we ate cake (chocolate cake, of course) and I opened all my gifts, I ran up to my room and went straight to my computer. I smile as I open it up because Eddie Lack and Ryan Miller were the background screen. I go to the Canucks website and see when their first home game is. Tueday, October 10th. I sigh. Why did it have to be so far away? I grab my phone and text Megan, one of my best friends. "GUESS WHAT MY PARENTS GOT ME FOR MY BIRTHDAY! :)" She responds almost instantly with "WHAT?! lemme guess it has something to do with hockey? ;)" (My whole school knows I love hockey). I replied with "YES!!! I GOT SEASON TICKETS!"
"NO. WAY! OMG OMG OMG YOU ARE THE LUCKIEST GIRL EVER!" I smiled. Yeah, I was pretty lucky. I look back to my computer screen. October 10th. October 10th. October 10th. That was in 7 days! A whole week! I couldn't wait to go back to school tomorrow and tell all my friends! I could even bring some to the games with me! This would definitely be the best hockey season yet!
