It wasn't supposed to be the way he would spend the afternoon. His main goal is to annoy Sunoo since he's bored at home when all his family were still tired from the jet lag and sleeping in their rooms all day.

Annoy his bestfriend and perhaps then he would be convinced to play Valorant with him.

Except that things didn't go as plan as always.

It is very evident that something was amissed the second he entered the Kim's residence and he found his bestfriend with the biggest frown in his face at his room.

He was then pointing at the scene happening in their backyard. There's Sunhee and Sangwon near the pool and underneath a tree.

"What's the problem with that?", Ni-ki asked when he joins Sunoo by the window.

Sunoo screwed up his face, "He just suddenly arrived here and didn't ask for my permission first to talk to her"

"They're just talking.. What's so wrong with it?", Ni-ki questioned.

He wants to judge Sunoo sometimes for being way too protective when it comes to his sister. But then the party happens, and he could understand now where the brother is coming from.

Sunhee is really someone who needs a lot of protection from any harm.

"It's just.. since she's been drugged, I feel like I can't trust any boy anymore", Sunoo shared with a sigh.

"What about me?", Ni-ki catch on quickly with another question, "I mean, me and our other friends?"

Recognition dawned on Sunoo's face but he didn't say anything about it.

Only in their main topic, "You're all an exception. But still not to the relationship stuff, don't forget that rules", Sunoo reminded.

Ni-ki can only remain silent. They were both then pulled to hear Sangwon asking Sunhee about wanting her to be his girlfriend.

He doesn't react nor give any kind of response to this situation until Sunoo is pushing him out of the bedroom to put a stop in the confession.

"Why not you? You're the brother, hyung!", Ni-ki exclaimed in shock at the push.

Sunoo widens his eyes at him, still pushing, "I don't want to be a controlling brother, so help me just this once"

"But you are and in this case, I'm in no place to interrupt them!", Ni-ki said loudly, but it seems like Sunoo didn't hear any of it.

Or was acting those words were floating out of his mouth with empty meanings.

Sunoo left him with no choice at all as he gives him one big shove out the back door a few seconds later and now he's here, appearing so confident and casual, but inside he's panicking internally.

Ni-ki, what have you gotten yourself into? You say you will avoid her but here we are.. Fuck.

"Ni-ki, are you.. are you mad?", Sunhee asked hesitantly.

"What? Me? No way", he said with another smile.

One look at her and it reminded him of the brother surely watching for him, hidden from the protection of the back door.

"Mmm. Sure, so what are you doing here?", Sunhee replied awkwardly while looking sideways at Sangwon.

Ni-ki decides to keep his cool before them, "Well, aren't you going to invite me in your conversation?"

The girl hesitated for a moment. He couldn't blame her, it isn't every day the bestfriend of your brother asked to join in a conversation that's more like a confession.
